Sin kovaze absolutely love everything you have done for this community. I’ve played a lot of Royale, I wanted to compile my thoughts on what I think the game needs to make a smoother experience for everyone. I also tried to include potential solutions throughout the blog though I have no idea what kind of effort that takes from a coding point of view. There’s also a major glitch listed at the bottom. Take what I say with a grain of salt, I am just one opinion. Thank you Sin for everything! Regardless i love Royale and I’ll keep playing but I see very few people are enrolling in it now. Hope this helps a little :)
GAME LENGTH:
Before it was unhealthy and you couldn’t do well unless you didn’t sleep. Now the game just goes far too quick to feel any umph. Half the time the game is over in 12 hours or you wake up to final 10 without knowing you joined the game. Just this week alone, 4 of the 7 days had 2 games end the same day.
CAST:
Same cast every time. No one is joining. There’s a lot of potential for Royale and in reality it’s such a fun game when played like Royale is supposed to do. But premades have killed that. (I am guilty. But at the end of the day it’s hard to beat the system. I do think things needs changed though, I’d rather play real Royale. But i will die if I try that based on how it currently works 🤣) potentially an entry fee or a cooldown period would help.
CAST SIZE:
Cast size is fine for the amount of users we have. Hopefully eventually it can be raised. The issue is moreos the same cast every time. Maybe an implementation of an entry fee or cooldown period where you can’t enter the raffle until so many games have passed
DANGER ZONES:
Danger zones we need more immediately. The same 3 people get all the kills every game. It’s the same ppl who sit in the eye usually. Almost impossible to take them out. When it was a 3 day game it was fine, 16 hours after the game started more would open up. With how fast the game is now, the math to make it line up with the timeframe of the long version would be after 2.5/3 hours the new danger zone should open up. If my math is right lol. Everyone should have somewhat of a chance to get into a danger zone.
MAP SIZE:
Map size is fine, maybe just shrink as the game goes on. Not necessarily as time passes, but as people die. Every few deaths a square closes?
DO NOT CLICK BUTTON:
Go back to instant death. This is supposed to be a deterrent, losing 50 health is nothing. No one dies from this button anymore. It was a good way to get people to slow down and be strategic and smart. Not just click away. Sometimes you just screw up and you’re meant to die, that’s how it goes. If people don’t like it they can slow down clicking on stuff.
FOOD:
Food is pointless, we saw it most recently with the stalling at final 4, 15 hours into the stall and they were still alive and well. But it’s been an issue, it’s irrelevant at this stage. Only pro is the fact there is food gives a small chance that people will eat berries given to them but that hardly ever happens now. People know the strategy and food isn’t important enough or worth it to risk eating a berry. Only solution i see is to have food drop much faster than the current rate.
STAMINA:
Stamina goes down too much for how little we can move. It goes up a lot slower the lower your stamina is. Granted that is likely the point, there is a inbalance. Takes far too long to move, and the amount of items you find when you move isn’t worth using up your stamina more than 1 or 2 spaces at a time. Just needs balanced a little.
HEALTH:
it’s very easy to stay at 100 health, would be an added element if there were random game maker attacks like Mutts/weather/forcefields/traps/etc. there’s an infinite world of creativity with this.
WEAPONS:
Weapons are good, could use a few more things to attack with. Right now we just have snipers bomb rows and kunai. You need to save up a lot to be able to really do anything unless you have a group. If you can get more weapons/do more damage by yourself this could push people to start playing more solo and killing people by themselves instead of a large group running the game everytime.
TRANSFERRING WEAPONS / ITEMS:
You should be able to transfer any item/weapon. Kinda random we can only transfer arrows and health stuff. In real hunger games you can do whatever you want with your stuff. Just comes down to consistency again, either you can transfer nothing or transfer everything. Lean towards everything as that’s more like real hunger games.
SET STARTING TIME(S):
A set start time would be nice. Maybe could rotate time zones to cater to everyone. Often the game will start early in the morning or late at night, most people are asleep and wake up dead.
DYING:
You have no way of knowing how you die except for who gets the last shot. This isn’t really a game flaw, doesn’t affect the game but it would be nice to know how you die, who was all involved in the killing, etc.
RUNNING IN FIGHTS:
I don’t know how it works but sometimes you get health from runs sometimes you don’t. I think the idea is if you save and the person runs you get 10 health. This doesn’t really make sense, I think you should either never get health from a run or get 10 health every time from a run. I lean towards no health? Since in hunger games if you run the other person doesn’t get health, they just gotta go find you. But either way it should be consistent.
PAYOUTS:
I think payouts need adjusted a bit IF changes are implemented. Right now it’s fine, it’s a lazy easy game that requires minimal effort to go far. 15th -3rd basically gets the same amount, that’s fine for now but If the game changes and it becomes more competitive I think it should change. Winning getting double from what 2nd gets, and then 15th -3rd just goes up 20-50 koinz each placement seems a little unbalanced.
MOBILE INTERFACE:
It is impossible to use multiple items at once. On a computer you can open tabs and line them up next to each other. Would be easier if we could shoot our kunai, snipers, and bombs similar how to we can shoot arrow all at once instead of the page refreshing before we can use kunai or bomb again.
SPECIAL ROYALE EVENTS:
It would make things fun and interesting, don’t have to do it all the time. It can be like celebrities. Every once in a while we have a fun event or theme or twist to the game. Duos die together, no weapons, raffle of former winners, double the cast, half the cast, etc. again there’s infinite ways to be creative with this. This isn’t an issue just would be fun and bring some community interaction.
ROYALE GLITCH:
If you open multiple tabs or use multiple devices you can continue collect items from squares you are no longer in. Just open a new tab and then move. The previous tab will still be in the previous area on the map. Major flaw for obvious reasons. Someone can essentially take everything from every square at all times. Not sure if this also works for fighting where you can attack someone in a room you’re no longer in by keeping the old tab up. This is by far the biggest immediate concern.
sin while I have you, we also can’t move our decorations in our profile house around on mobile. I know I’m the only user on the website who uses it but would be nice if I could rearrange things on phone ♥️
