I think the concept is really really cool and I appreciate all the hard work Sin has put in to it, but the execution needs a bit of work. Starting off, after seeing MotherFart literally lose ranking points for coming in 4th place (even though she only had 1180 points), I have come to realization that getting over 1300 points will be nearly impossible with a gamemode such as hysteria. Sure if this was race or arena it would make more sense. But in a game like Hysteria, someone can randomly take you out for 11th and you lose points. Secondly, there is also no progression in terms of gaining ELO. Someone could literally be the top ranked player the entire season and work hard to get there, and then in the last 4 days get a few 11th places and fall down SO much. All the work for nothing. This just doesn't make sense to me Finally, a making ELO points super sensitive will prevent players from wanting to play if they are already ranked super high. If I was one of the top ranked players I wouldn't want to join a game because of how sensitive it is to lose points. Or people will get super high up and get frustrated about losing points for getting 3rd or 4th place and not want to play anymore. There are just so many things wrong with this new system that I think can easily be fixed. With a few tweaks this could be really cool!!

Seeing as there has been some miscommunication, we want to clarify how moderation applies to behavior connected to Kovaze. Any behavior that endangers players or threatens the safety of other users has always been within the intent of our moderation rules, including conduct that occurs in Kovaze-related interactions outside of the website itself. To clarify the scope for everyone: **Moderators will NOT take action** on things said among friends, within friend groups, or as mutual banter. For example, if two friends are joking privately and one later submits a screenshot out of context due to frustration over a game outcome, this is out of scope and not a moderation concern. **Moderators WILL take action** when a user adds or contacts another user as a direct result of a Kovaze game, and that interaction results in harassment, hate speech (including slurs, threats, or demeaning language), or targeted abuse. In these cases, the entire premise of the interaction must be clearly Kovaze-related, and there must be a clear conclusion that the platform was used to facilitate harassment or bullying. Unfortunately, some users have been exploiting this gap to berate others in private messages following games. This is not the type of community we are building. For the vast majority of players, this clarification will have no impact beyond helping prevent unwanted and harmful interactions. We understand that moderation can sometimes feel strict, especially in comparison to smaller or more casual communities. However, as we work toward becoming a mainstream platform, maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all users is a priority. 💐

Hello Kovazians. As this site grows and we get more and more users on the website, it is clear Discord is the mainline communication between players rather than in game chat. We understand that this is a tool outside of Kovaze and we can not fully moderate every situation that does not happen in front of us. However, we are taking steps to try and moderate some of the more out of line comments that are shared to us on Discord. While we previously declared most of these things as outside of the scope of our moderation, we have decided to start sanctioning users based on things that happen in DMs on Discord. This is to keep the community safe, mitigate bullying, and creating a standard of just being nice to each other. This is not to moderate how you are able to talk to your friends. We understand, in friendly banter, you may say things that are not permissible to say on this platform or in the Discord. What we are looking at is SPECIFICALLY Kovaze-related incidents. You are no longer allowed to call people slurs, threaten them, or whatever else because they nominated you in Hysteria or idoled you out in Outcasted. That being said, we will NOT be accepting reports long after an incident. Some exceptions will be made, but the timeline will absolutely be considered when addressing these types of reports. You aren't going to be able to use this to your advantage because someone made you mad months later. Please use your normal routes of reporting for these incidents and include links to screenshots when applicable. These can be directly in the reports or sent to a moderator via mails/DM/the ticket feature in the server. ELO is just a number that shows how good you are at a game. Everyone starts at 1000 because the rankings really don’t know who is good yet. When you win, your number goes up. When you lose, your number goes down. If you beat someone who is “supposed” to be better (higher ELO), you gain more points. If you lose to someone who is “supposed” to be worse, you lose more points. At the start of this, everyone is at 1000, so the ranking thinks all players are equal. Because of that, every win or loss feels like a big surprise, and the ranking makes big changes to people’s scores. That’s why MotherFart loses a lot of points for getting 4th place. After more games are played, players spread out to their real skill levels, and the score changes get smaller and more stable. TL;DR - ELO is a skill score. Everyone starts at 1000, so early wins and losses cause big swings. It stabilizes once players spread to their real skill levels.

#Amandasincere04 This blog is addressed to Kemi. I went full force on you calling you out when I could have easily just opened a private conversation with you and achieved a much easier outcome. I don’t have to tell you that we’re half sisters with a long up and down history, but I will remind you that there is always a baseline respect for you from how you treat our blood sister sobriquet. I don’t think I showed that respect to you and I’m sorry. I should have chosen my words more carefully when I said you are what’s wrong with kovaze, that cannot possibly be true you’re 1 user in a community of like 300-500 and we all impact the site in some way. I have long held frustrations about how a lot of decisions get made in very small groups of people whose credentials seem to be that they’re close friends with Sin and/or supported the site early on. You are an example of one of those people but not the only one & honestly I should have brought this complaint directly to the admin without coming at you. Your dismissive comment to my blog felt pretty rude to me because I would have taken what you said seriously had the roles been reversed. But we all have different conflict resolution methods so I’m not personally offended lol I was just like bitch stop being rude… With the Hysteria comment. I played with you in the early Hysteria & watched you win with austin and it was a lot of fun! We haven’t been in a game since but from the outside & as someone who knows your general demeanor, I became concerned with how intensely you were taking Hysterias. I saw the message to snowglobe & was like I know this person well enough to know this is not who they are. I should have said that to you with more affection and respect than what I actually wrote. I’ll reach out at some point tonight or tomorrow to talk privately but wanted to get everything else off my chest and remind you that I could never like HATE you. I’m sorry for making you feel like I did. TLDR. We are half sisters whether we like each other or not. I should have brought my issues with the organizational layout directly to the admin and not the damn general chat. I understand Hysteria can be high pressure but the repeated exposure to it makes us more paranoid and combative to each other over a 45 minute game.
