Scream 7 Thoughts [spoilers]

hauntedwaves 1 hour ago18 views

now that i've had a week to sit w/ the film i wanted to dump my thoughts somewhere - i stand w/ melissa barrera and i hate how the situation with this movie unfolded. i would love a situation where amends could be made, mistakes were owned up to, and she could come back for scream 8. but given the current ownership of paramount/cbs im aware its not likely sigh - the opening scene was just okay. i think it would be better if it was a little more drawn out than it was, its a little farfetched that they wouldnt have heard or seen real ghostface replace the fake one but nevertheless... i do like that stu's house is now burnt to a crisp because it prevents it from getting overused as a setting in the movies - the way sidney operates as a mom makes no sense, she should've known that she is a high risk for being attacked and that training her daughter to be prepared is the better choice than trying to protect tatum from that world. - the sequence from when stu calls sidney for the first time up until gale runs over karl is the best part of the entire film and is the only part of the movie id consider to be decently good - hannah's death is the best in the movie but even then i feel like mckenna grace didnt really sell it in a way that made me feel anything. also the final wound from ghostface made me roll my eyes they could've done something a lot cooler than that in my opinion. i felt more bad for aaron than i did for her lol. - the rest of the deaths were really boring and not really believable, the whole 3rd act felt so uninspired. im supposed to believe jessica had the strength to kill her son in the way she did? - mindy and chad did not need to be in the film, also it pisses me off how they are seemingly unphased by the new york attacks? mindy literally watched her girlfriend get thrown off a ladder by ghostface and shes not traumatized at all and seemingly giddy the entire time? these movies would benefit from exploring the trauma from all of the attacks more because its hard to buy that these characters are genuine when they arent phased by ANYTHING. - the reveal sucked as we all know and it literally shouldve just been stu because that would've been the better movie and motive. matthew lillard lowkey carried this whole film on his back. jessica does a good job of selling pyscho but the writing is just atrocious. thats all.. scream 8 seems inevitable so hopefully its better.. kevin williamson can sit this one out as a director pls

I was going to take my son to see it on opening night but something came up and we were unable to go.... honestly glad we didn't now, several people in my city said they were so disappointed and it was the worst film in the series.
