Today Has Been Ass

I’ve done court-mandated group therapy for six years and have somehow NEVER had an issue like this. My clients are usually so sweet, calling me Miss Deena and ma’am. Today a man casually used the F slur and then basically clarified that being gay would be the actual problem. And as the therapist, obviously that’s something I should challenge, but as a queer person I suddenly felt so fucking uncomfortable doing it. Like am I correcting your homophobia as your therapist or accidentally telling a room full of people something about myself? Idk. Just a really shitty and uncomfortable position to be put in.
