Race updates are very good imo. i can understand concerns about losing the simplicity of the game, but i kind of think the simplicity is what made it become a little boring. once you played enough Races you basically knew exactly what transport to do every time and i just don’t see what’s fun about that
these power-ups add just enough strategy to where it gets the gears turning in your brain but still makes the challenges the main component. things like the Inspiration power-up add some parity to the game and balance out a comp beast paired with a new player and the other power-ups occupy very fun necessary spaces
the only two pieces of feedback / questions i have are: when you have a power-up that gives you a % bonus, is the bonus applied before or after transport - or are they added together then applied as one? and then my non-question but piece of feedback is i think some sort of sidebar with the power-up icons and descriptions would help a lot

All bonuses are added pre-transport. And yes I'll make an in-game list of the items soon. I'm glad you're enjoying it :)

its a fun update but i think the problem before was just low player base. still needing 20 is a lot after the hype dies down
brookie ur right but i think my hope would be that each game being more dynamic and less predictable make people want to join more? tbh new players get basically bullied into not ever joining, so they play Arena and flop bc they only get one round of practice per game before getting eliminated. i think the same like 30-40 people made up every Race for a while and this might allow new people to succeed
