Is it woke
To cut off someone as a friend bc they got a dui? I deadass think those people are scum and I’m not directly friends with someone like that but more a friend of a friend and I just don’t know how people act like nothing happened when they could’ve killed someone

I was dating this guy and we were coming home, and he was driving and I was following in my car behind him, and I had only had like one drink and he had more, and he was like swerving all over the place and it was like a 2 minute ride but still, I broke up with him like the next day
I don’t think it’s ‘woke,’ I think it’s just personal boundaries. A DUI is serious and it’s valid to feel uncomfortable with it. At the same time, cutting someone off completely doesn’t always leave room for them to take accountability, go through classes, learn, and actually change. My mom got one, and I had to take space from her after because it was a lot to process. It didn’t mean I thought she was a bad person forever, just that I needed distance while she figured things out. I think it really comes down to how the person responds after. You can hold someone accountable and still believe people can grow, while deciding what you’re comfortable with.
honey yeh I just know in this specific case, himself and some of his closer friends laughed it off and would potentially repeat that which I’m just honestly disgusted by
so well said. people genuinely can make mistakes and its how the person responds after
