Seeing as @Death was brave enough to tell her story.. I thought I would too... One of many. Well here goes, I have never spoken out before... But I am ready? I think. The first time Cherry and I went to the farm, I thought it’d be relaxing....sun, hay bales, maybe a petting zoo. But as soon as we walked past the pen, she squinted at me, then at the pigs, and said, “Wow, twins!” I laughed, thinking it was a one-time joke. But then she pointed at a particularly round one rolling in the mud and whispered, “You’ve got her energy.” I tried to smile, to let it go. Maybe it was just Cherry being Cherry... she always has a way of words and sense of humour. But weeks later, at the zoo, we passed the pig enclosure again — and before I could say anything, she turned to me with that same grin and said, “They must’ve missed you since the farm.” This time, I didn’t laugh. I just stared at the pigs, wondering when a joke stops being a joke and starts being a mirror... showing you how someone really sees you.
