DNTM4 - Flop-O-Meter [FINAL 4]

Lewis      ❤ 68    ▲5

Welcome back to Flop O Meter, this week on #DNTM4, Dimitra continued their journey in Bali, where they photographed with a beautiful temple. We are one step away from the final, how exciting! Marilise, LeQuishaQ, Marquis & GuiltyAsSin - you all smashed this week and it really comes to down to my own personal tastes for this.. you all SMASHED it! Shoutout to our fallen sister Fancy, you are truly missed this episode! All opinions are my own. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marilise - Wow, gorgeous! You have captured such a beautiful sense of grace here. It's elegant and undeniably beautiful, whilst still balancing a creative atmosphere, it's a joy to look at. Your model's expression is flawless, it matches the serene temple theme flawlesslyy. I love the colour palette with the muted tones and splash of blue, it feels calm and sophisticated. The background is gorgeous, you've managed to frame the temple and the sunshine in a way that shines onto your model. I do have one small note on the technical side, the hand placement on the wall feels a bit unnatural to me, and it breaks the illusion if you stare at it too long. Also, the shoes are just not my personal taste. However, you've shown consistency throughout this competition, and your passion has always shone through, congratulations on making Final 4! Rating - 8.5/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marquis - This is a truly strong luxruious editorial. You look expensive, and your face is, as always, serving nothing but strength and poise. I love the narrative you've built with this photo, the creative choice to interact with the bell, with the temples in the background, giving the shot depth. You have such clear identity, it's been great to see you find your style and niche. That said, we've seen quite a few mesh shirts from you, and for the final stretch, it would be great to see something different or a new style, to show us a new side of your versatility that will WOW the judges! Another fantastic photo - congratulations on Top 4! Rating - 9/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LeQuishaQ - This is undeniably a gorgeous photo, it's clean, visually pleasing and shows a sense of effortless beauty. You've mastered the expression and there is a great connection between you and the background that feels editorial. The styling is elegant, it looks great on your model. That said, at this stage of the game, I think the judges should be looking for that 'it' factor, something that pushes boundaries. You've given us perfection week by week, but this particular photo feels just a little bit predictable and...meh. I also found the gab between your fringe distracting. It's still a very strong, professional shot. Congratulations on Final 4! Rating - 8.5/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GuiltyAsSin - I am just .. wow. I am so proud of how far you have come in this competition and it has been a joy to witness. This shot has put you miles ahead of the group, it is bold, creative, and gives power. It is a creative risk and truly seperates you from the group. The styling is beautiful, the colours of the fabrics scream high end luxury and high fashion. You've balanced the peace of the background with the movement of the fabrics, creating a tranquil vibe. I do have a tiny critique, the right foot looks like it's slanted almost vertically, I know your model must be in pain. I think a slightly softer facial expression might have added a touch more depth of the scene. But this really is a chef kiss moment for me, you stepped up, you stood out and you KILLED it.. Congratulations on Top 4! Rating - 9.5/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rankings: 1. GuiltyAsSin - 9.5 2. Marquis - 9.0 3. Marilise - 8.5 4. LeQuisha - 8.5

DNTM4 - Flop-O-Meter [FINAL 5]

We are now at the final 5, and this week Dimitra flew the models to Bali for a jungle editorial!! The stakes are at it's highest, the models have all come a long way. Congratulations to Fancy Marilise LeQuishaQ Marquis GuiltyAsSin - truly you have all done amazing. As always all opinions are my own. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marilise - this shot is a testament to your growth. You managed to find a stance that broke away from the predictable, creating a silhoutte that feels to me both architectural and organic. You have placed yourself in the centre of the environment whilst successfully blending it! Regarding the style, it is bold and it pushes boundaries of the jungle aesthetic, the choice of outfit and the reveal of the 🍑 becomes a bold statement of confidence. Really well done, and congratulations this week. Rating - 9/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marquis - Your facial structure remains the best this competition, you are serving intensity and it is always great to see. The are the main focus here. However, every detail should matter. The brief called to blend into the environment, while your presence is commanding, the colour of your styling creates sharp differences against the tropical background. A more intentional play with earth tones and textures would have turned this into a great week for you!! Regardless, you always slay and your FACE CARD IS WOW! Congratulations on Final 5! Rating - 8.5/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LeQuishaQ - You have absolutely mastered this. This is the definition of high-fashion editorial, the styling.. the hair ... and the makeup.. chefs kiss. Your stance is fluid and seems natural, whilst also remaining bold. The way your skin glows in the jungle light.. ugh just amazing. Your expression is glamour and it's also giving a sense of mystery, there is a story to tell. This is without a doubt, your best this season in my opinion. You have really shown that you take effort into each photo. You tore this, congratulations on Final 5! Rating - 9.7/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GuiltyAsSin - your commitment to always being different and standing out - especially with your makeup, has been a highlight of the season. You always bring something distinct, and the last few episodes you have really stepped up.. keep going the end is in sight! Your styling in this photo hits the theme perfectly, your expression is great and as mentioned, the makeup here is a hit. However, because the environment is so rich and saturated, the composition feels slightly overcrowded. The background is also competing for the main spotlight, and this pulls focus away from your presence. The leg extension, while it looks great, it may read as slightly unnatural, but again I think is because your face is appearing small and the camera distortion. Congratulations on Final 5! Rating - 8.7/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fancy - I always look forward to your photos, you're not afraid to take bold creative choices. You have an unforgettable quality, and I am always locked on your model, regardless of the complexity of the set. You always own the space you are in. That said, as we rearch the final, the line between high fashion and costume becomes a bit of an issue for me in this particular photo. You for sure show boldness and strength, but the styling feels a little bit too literal, you could've pushed this further. You have done so well in this competition and progressed immensely, congratulations on final 5! Rating - 8/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rankings 1. LeQuisha 2. Marilise 3. GuiltyAsSin 4. Marquis 5. Fancy

DNTM4 - Flop-O-Meter [Week 10]

Lewis      ❤ 56    ▲6

Welcome back and we now have our TOP 6! This week on #DNTM4, Dimitra asked the models to serve high fashion, drama, and mystery in a Black Swan themed photoshoot. This week on Flop O Meter, we are doing it differently. The standard is so high and truly nobody is delivering anything remotely close to a failure anymore, the Flop O Meter has officially been turned off. From here on out, I will be scoring out of 10. As always, all opinions are my own!! :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marilise - I love this truly. You perfectly fit the brief with the overall theming and atmosphere, and the warm lighting provides the PERFECT amount of mystery. The use of feathers compliments your styling choices beautifully, it feels couture rather than cheap. Your expression is intense and I love that you are leaning over the side of the balcony, it feeds into a powerful high fashion narrative. The power this holds is the greatest part of the photo. A few notes.. while the dress is beautiful, you can have enhanced it to be completely unforgettable. Making the feathers drape down more or arranged with more intention. To get more movement, you could have used a more dynamic pose, even having your hand caught in a subtle motion... idk something. As always, your face is beautiful, but we are so used to this soft glam, I think this would have been the perfect week to try something different with more unconventional, darker makeup looks. An avant garde eye look would have been slay here. You could have added more mystery in the space, maybe some smoke from the stage or something to soften the background up so full attention is on you. Overall, this is really good, well done and congrats on Top 6! Rating - 8/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LeQuishaQ - I think this easily the most theatrical image out of everyones, you ticked off the 'grand old theatre' setting without compromising on the grace of your model. The choice to interact with a single feather surrounded by others floating in the air is beautfiful and ticks off the movement of the photo. You created a beautiful story.. the lighting is chefs kiss. Your silhoutte is a joy to look at. You created a dark and powerful vibe, well done. A few notes, because this is a wider shot, your face is a bit small in the frame. You could have experimented with more material, maybe soft fabrics or something metalic or reflective... And you definetly needed some jewellery, your neck looks extremely bare. All in all, this is a wonderful photo and you did so well. Congratulations. Rating - 9/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marquis - This is a really nice interperation of the black swan. Having that spotlight shine directly against the darkness is effective. The styling is amazing, and I love the mix of textures. I think you did well at executing high fashion. The kneeling pose fits the intense expression and brings the drama needed in this brief. I like the framing, using the dark background along with the golden highlights to hint at the timeless architecture. The critiques... the floating feathers are nice but they feel a bit disconnected from you physically, either having a few one caught in your hair or stuck to the textured top would have been way more effective. They seem like a bit of an afterthought. You also look a little isolated in the centre of the frame, the stance doesn't really tell a story to me, so I'm wondering why you went with this. To push the old theatre aspect further, you could have experimented with interacting with the physical space more - maybe idk resting up against a column or a piece of architecture. But well done...because this is bold and a creative choice nevertheless. You hit the high fashion and intensitity marks really well. Rating - 7.8/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fancy - This is a brilliant high fashion photo that leans into a gender fluid aesthetic, which I personally love to see. It feels less like a character and more like high fashion shoot. I love the sheer, fabric that flows out of your arms, it creates movement to your photo, and relates back to the theme, represnting bird wings. It's a very sophisticated interpreation of the brief. The styling feels daring and this is... well.. it's fashion! The expression is good, it's powerful and ticks off the mystery that Dimitra requested. My names.. the cape is great, but you could have experimented more to push the high fashion concepts even further.. maybe adding feathers to the shoulders or along the arms, this would give the styling more texture and stand out a bit more. Your arms also look every so slightly for your body, which for me, breaks the illusion. Nevertheless, you pushed the boundaries of the concept perfectly, moving away from literal interpreations and into something fashion forward.. well done Fancy! Rating - 8.3/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CupidStunt - This is such a powerful photo. At first glance, I thought this was a little boring, maybe perhaps stiff.. but the more I looked at it, the more I begun to appreciate what you have bought to the table this week. It is incredibly defiant and chic. You hit a high-fashion ballet inspired pose, whilst avoiding to look like the ballerina herself. The way the dress flows creates drama and power. The look in your eyes is STRONG and creates mystery. I'm obsessed with the dark lip colour, I think a few more of the models could have experimented with their make up this week, and you took a risk, which I think the judges wil lappreciate. A few notes, because the pose is so athletic, it all feels very vertical. You could've experimented with different camera angles, maybe a lower angle. I am maybe a little worried that the judges will think you are the ballerina herself, which the brief explicitly called for you not to do, but in my opinion you don't. It's wonderful shot and I think you done great. Well done! Rating - 8.5/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GuiltyAsSin - You completely broke away from the crowd this week! I appreciate you took a huge risk with this and I think the judges are going to love it. The shadow play is the standout element of the image, it adds some much narrative to the shot. The birds-eye view provides a unique perspective, which the other girls suffered with, in my opinion. The birds eye view, has you perfectly in shot, whilst also showing off the grand theatre. The pose is elegant yet athletic which captures that high-drama vibe..... Love the headpiece too. My only real notes is about the framing, the camera is positioned so far above you, your face is much smaller in the frame. Whilst your face looks stun, we miss the expression a bit.. the other models captured the expression well with the close ups. But wow, what a great photo.... well done once again! Rating - 9.5 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. GuiltyAsSin - 9.5 2. LeQuisha - 9.0 3. CupidStunt - 8.5 4. Fancy - 8.3 5. Marilise - 8.0 6. Marquis - 7.8 Well done on a really good week, I don't know who will be in the bottom... it's a close call.

DNTM4 - Flop-O-Meter [Week 9]

Lewis      ❤ 46    ▲5

Welcome back to another week of #DNTM4. This week Dimitra asked the models to deliver an effortless yet impactful fashion campaign... in a car! For some the engine stalled... As always opinions are my own. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👢 The Biggest Flops (Scores 7 - 10) 👢 Antog - Flop Rating 7 I really wish you would stop matching the colour of your wardrobe and props directly to your hair, because it is starting to become an incredibly predictable, regular habit. At this point in the competition, it's leaning toward boring. The body positioning feels awkward and unrefined, and the styling itself is quite full instead of reading as high fashion. This entire concept desperately needed more refinement, because right now, the Eiffel Tower and the background are completely overshining the awkward model sitting in the car. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ⚖️ The Medium Flops (Scores 3 - 6.9) ⚖️ Marilise - Flop Rating 3.5 This is a beautiful, clean and simple photograph, and you definitely hit the core of the brief when it comes to delivering effortless style. I'm not entirely convinced that the wardrobe screams luxury fashion, but I do love the headpiece. I enjoy your facial expression here as well, it's refreshing change of pace from the simple face we see regularly. That said, you absolutely could have gone bolder with your body positioning and overall photo. Week after week, you deliver consistently good photos and I am truly rooting for you, but this image just misses that 'wow' factor required to stand out from a highly competitive crowd. Fancy - Flop Rating 3 This is undeniably a very clean shot. The lighting in this composition is beautiful, and it is does a good job of highling the best features of your face - the jawline is once again completely captivating. However, the face does a look a little bit too relaxed, and I think the shot would have benefited from a more intense, arresting expression. While the styling is good, it's difficult to see clearly in this frame and I wouldn't necessarily call it high fashion. I completely understand the upscale visual you were aiming for, and by no means is this a bottom tier photo for me, but it needed an extra spark. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👑 The Safe Zone (Scores 0 - 2.9) 👑 LeQuishaQ - Flop Rating 2.5 I think you fit the spirit of this brief beautifully. You made excellent, full use of the car to build a compelling narrative. I'm a bit on the fence regarding the specific fashion choices here, but your facial expression is completely captivating and serving pure face card. The pose strikes that perfect cord/bold, yet still effortless image. My main critique is that the execution feels a little bit costumey and cinematic, like a movie still, when we really need to see is a high-fashion campaign. Marquis - Flop Rating 1.5 This image is effortlessly beautiful. Part of me wishes you had dug just a little bit deeper with your fashion, but the overall look fits with your background that it functions perfectly as a luxury campaign. The pose itself could be bolder, but once again you are serving face. I love that you opted for a completely different direction with your styling this week, it is an undeniable standout. GuiltyAsSin - Flop Rating 1 You took a massive risk this week, and I truly appreciate that artistic drive. Now, to be honest, I'm not a fan of how bare and exposed the feet are - it feels distracting to the image, and I think simply wearing your heels would have elevated the look. However, your facial expression is deeply captivating and strong, all while maintaining that coveted, effortless vibe. I do wish we could see a bit more of the actual garment to judge its high-fashion value, but the overall shot feels incredibly editorial. I love the inclusion of the random props, the pose is bold, and you absolutely pulled off the gamble. CupidStunt - Flop Rating 0.8 This is pure camp, in the best way possible. The styling is fantastic, and your facial expression is a total chef's kiss moment. I think the styling perfectly fits the pose, it is natural and effortless. Could it be slightly more bold though.. absolutely yes. I don't really have many notes beyond that. This is a thoroughly good, incredibly strong photo, and it is exactly the type of work I would expect to see gracing a high-fashion campaign billboard. This is a standout for me and it won't be forgotten. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leaderboard Week 9 1. CupidStunt - 0.8 2. GuiltyAsSin 1.0 3. Marquis - 1.5 4. LeQuisha - 2.5 5. Fancy - 3.0 6. Marilise - 3.5 7. Antog - 7.0

DNTM4 - Flop-O-Meter [Week 8]

Lewis      ❤ 32    ▲18

Welcome back to the Flop O Meter, this week on #DNTM4, Dimitra asked to see shapes, attitude and pure fashion. The divide between the models who understood the assingment and the models fell is massive. The Flop O Meter has calculated the scores.. As always all opinion are my own. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👢 The Biggest Flops (Scores 7 - 10) 👢 GuiltyAsSin - Flop Rating 8 I'm really not obsessed with this. The hat looks completely detached rom the composition, almost like it's just floating unnaturally above your hair line. The outfit choice leans a bit tacky and looks quite cheap for a high fashion shoot. On top of that, the overall positioning feels incredibly awkward, especially the right leg. I wish we could seen the right boot because its absence completely breaks the logic of the photo. The boot on your left leg is beautifully long with the high heel, which begs the question... where are you hiding all that volume for the right leg on such a small plinth? It shatters the reality of the shoot. Im sorry, but for me, this is a boot. SpaceLab - Flop Rating 7 Unfortunately, this is another miss for me. The image has a noticeable blurriness to it that just throws me off from the get go, it ruins the high end clarity required for an editorial fashion campagin. I'm not sure what went wrong during generation but the execution doesn't work. The right hand looks quite awkward and I don't understand the purpose. I am underwhelmed by the styling, it feels like a concept we've seen before, whereas the brief explicitly demanded high fashion. I do enjoy the dramatic shadowing, as it adds moodiness to the shot. But apart from that saving grace, the image heavily lacks impact. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ⚖️ The Medium Flops (Scores 3 - 6.9) ⚖️ LeQuishaQ - Flop Rating 3 This is an undeniable high-fashion serve. To be completely host, I'm not entirely crazy about the hat choice, but I appreciate that it's something different. The pose itself reads unnatural and stiff but somehow within this specific avant garde context, the rigidity actually works in your favor. It's a good job, but not wow enough for me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👑 The Safe Zone (Scores 2.9 - 0)👑 Antog - Flop Rating 2.7 I love the positioning and composition of this shot, it is visually captivating and so good to look at. This doesn't bore me for a second. My critique is that the styling itself could have been elevated a little more to fit high fashion territory, and that hand raised in the air reads a bit too robotic. The minor AI glitches can be the sole reason you miss out on FCO, so it's worth perfecting the errors. Everything else works beautifully though and the face is a serve. I'm usually not a fan of the closed-eye look, but for this specific editorial concept, it works pefectly, well done! CupidStunt - Flop Rating 2.5 Visually, this is completely stunning. I love the outfit and the overall styling, you look phenomenal. Personally, I'm a bit on the fence about the facial expression, it's a bit dull for the ecentric outfit you have. My main critique lies in how the dress flows down to the plinth (this is me being nitpicky)!. The flat, clipped edge of your skirt doesn't make structual sense because the physical box underneath doesn't extend out of that far. Having the fabric realistically drape around the box would've fixed the broken ilusion. However, this is a really strong effort and you easily walked away with the best styling of the week. Well done Marilise - Flop Rating 2 This is great! I really love the distinct editorial direction you chose to explore for this shoot. Your face looks soft, yet it holds an incredible amount of power. The outfit itself is highly fashionable, and I love the sharp geometric shapes the composition creates against your silhoutte. I'll admit I struggle with your photos sometimes because your images are always technically good, but they occassionally miss that show stopping wow factor. I would love to see you start taking risks!!! Well done!! Marquis - Flop Rating 0.3 What another great week for you. This image oozes a distinct personality, which is an era where a lot of the other models unfortunately struggled this week. The styling is gorgeous, and the seen of the fabric interacts with the black and white filter. Your face is serving as always and this is precisely the caliber of work you would see.. The stance is strong, completely natural and free of any awkwardness and that hair styling is chef's kiss. Absolute love! Fancy - Flop Rating 0.2 Once again, I love this. The styling is a total wow moment, and your face card is an absolute serve. You have truly come such a long way in this competition and it is great to see. This image is exactly what I was hoping for when we talk about high fashion, editorial narrative and dynamic posing. I have absolutely zero notes for you... WELL DONE. ----------------------------------------------- Week 8 Leaderboard 1. Fancy 2. Marquis 3. Marilise 4. CupidStunt 5. Antog 6. LeQuisha 7. SpaceLab 8. GuiltyAsSin
