(IDEA/SUGGESTION) Royale Updates
Hi friends! I’ve got a few Royales under my belt now including a win, two top 10s, a top 15, and then a few not so great placements. I would have to say it’s probably my favorite game on the site overall, but I do believe there a few adjustments that could be made to improve it. :)
Below I’m going to list the overall thoughts then a condensed TL;DR at the bottom.
1) Open a number of Royales based on how many people enrolled in the raffle. 103 people enrolled? Fill 2 Royales. 6 people are out of luck, but that’s much better than 56. People want to play the game but it can definitely be frustrating when you repeatedly don’t get picked.
2) Make Food decrease significantly faster. As it stands, Food is a negligible aspect of the game and only serves to eliminate inactive players. However, this process takes far too long. Many games lately have inactive players making it as far as even the top 10 despite not even logging in and doing anything. It’s not worth it for active players to use their weapons to take out these players, so they end up just floating super far because it takes so long for Food to reach 0. Personally, I would suggest making it so that it takes about 12 hours to hit 0 Food from 100. (It’s currently roughly ~33 hours)
3) Pop-ups…. The most crucial part of the game yet also so infuriating. I do agree that the “do not click” pop ups were a good solution to the autoclickers, however they are so, SO damn obnoxious and in my opinion they appear far too often. In my most recent game, I would often have 6 or 7 appear consecutively without a single real pop up. Like, what? I also am not sure I agree with them being insta death. If they’re going to continue appearing at their current rate, I would argue either reducing them to like -50 HP so that one accidental click doesn’t kill you, or making them take away your current loot and making you start collecting from scratch. Something to punish anyone who still tries auto clicking while leaving room for forgiveness for errors.
4) Map size. I would like to see the map shrink at a faster rate than it currently does. This could be based either flat off time, or off of number of players alive. Something like every 8 hours, two random tiles close. Or every 10 deaths it shrinks by 2 or 3 tiles, then at top 10 every death closes a tile. This could assist my next point too.
5) Game pacing. I think this is one thing that many people have differing opinions on, but I personally strongly feel that the game takes too long at its current average pace WHEN you consider just how much effort and attention the game requires to truly have a chance to win. You have to be paying attention constantly, and it’s very challenging for anybody with responsibilities like a job. I do think this would naturally improve with two of the above suggestions (food and map size) but another thing that could assist is increasing the appearance rate of pop ups to allow people to make moves more often. Most of the game is just sit and wait while you collect enough loot to kill someone with an ally or two.
6) Item changes and new items! I think overall the current state of items is not bad; really it’s just poisonous berries that could use some adjusting out of the current items. However, I think they might actually come into play if the food changes happened. In this scenario, I also think you could consider bumping up the rarity of Food from green to blue, so it’s slightly less common.
I also have some ideas for new items, which includes a new rarity tier “Iridescent” (red color) for one of them.
Backpack (Rarity: Purple)
Use to gain 30 food and 60 energy.
Body Armor (Rarity: Blue)
Shields the next 5 HP worth of damage you would take. Only one can be active on you at a time.
Land Mine (Rarity: Iridescent)
Place on a tile and the next player to enter the tile takes 20 damage. Only one Land Mine can be set on a tile at a time.
Poisoned Arrow (Rarity: Green)
Deals 3 damage and causes target to lose 5 energy.
Snare Trap (Rarity: Gold)
Place on a tile and the next player to enter this tile loses all energy. All players receive a chat alert that a player triggered a Snare Trap, but alert does not reveal who or where.
Syringe (Rarity: Blue)
Heals 2 HP.

TL;DR
- open up multiple games at once depending on how many people enroll in raffle (allows people to play more consistently)
- make food decrease significantly faster (100 to 0 food in 12 hours instead of current 33)
- decrease appearance rate of “do not click” pop-up or adjust to remove HP/take away supplies instead of instant death
- map shrinks more often (every 8 hours or every certain number of deaths)
- improve game pacing (ties into food nerfs, map shrinking) (increase pop ups appearance rate overall)
- new items

I agree with #2, #4, #5, and #6. The game definitely needs to move faster. Additional items: Spy Glasses----Allows you to pick anywhere on the map and see who's in that location
Absolutely agree with this. Nice ideas!
amazing ideas that will probably never get implemented :(
itsamodernlife #1 is a good idea in theory but I think Sin ended up not doing it bc it'd end up something similar to Outcasted - despite the 2 lobbies, premades still make it in and end up dominating. I'VE BEEN SAYING #2 FOR FOREVER. PLEASE SIN IMPLEMENT THIS. Honestly not that many people have been dying to the do not clicks so I think decreasing their spawn rate or changing them up in some way will make them less obnoxious. 100% agree with #4 and #5, game pacing is much too long at the moment. I'VE BEEN SAYING #6 (Food wise) FOR A WHILE NOW LIKE HELLO. I really like the idea of the snare trap and the backpack. The energy in this game in general is very annoying and part of the reason why it moves so slow. This item should help. Also the snare trap just sounds like a fun item to implement! Great thinking :D
