The Fundamental Problem
With this website, community, and its future growth plans are that there are people on here who are allowed to exist within, while being huge deterrents and detractors.
This site is no different than tengaged in that aspect it just has a shinier coat of paint. People like frostbite and benopolis who time and time again have done things to be hurtful and antagonize others and get not much more than a slap on the wrist. There needs to be a harsher punishment system for individuals like this with a continued history of abuse, doxxing, stalking, and threatening others on this site and the previous.
Sin what do you think is going to happen when you push ads out to the world, we get a few newcomers who maybe have never been in this type of online community before, and the first thing they see is Ben threatening someone’s life AGAIN. Allowing this sort of behavior as just a temporary ban rather than a permanent one will only continue the cycle.
There are many people on here that are like this more than I’ve mentioned, but for obvious reasons those are the prime suspects. At the end of the day this website with its current user base is admittedly doing quite well, but I’m certain that as new users enter, especially ones who aren’t used to this, there will be more and more glaring problems. If the precedent starts now that behavior like that, no matter who it is or why, is unacceptable then that will be how this site continues. Should it stay as it is then the only clear vision is the same toxic, unhealthy, and unwelcoming environment that tengaged was.
Sin, I know you don’t want to engage with this type of situation as you’ve stated before and with the addition of more mods, however this is something that only you have the power to stop. The sooner you make this website safer for the majority of users, the better the future outcome will be.

As a person who learned about Tengaged later, I have to say that the way some people speak to others here in casual conversation is truly unbelievable. I think I am probably a little older than most of the median demographic here, but even as a teenager or someone in my early 20s, I'd NEVER have spoken to people the way some people here speak to and about others. I have seen of the nastiest and cruelest stuff said in the Discord chat, blog interactions, and games. I know a large percentage of it is trolling, but it's not always obvious. I don't know a thing about this specific incident, but I think if this site is to expand further out into the interwebs, people are going to find it and immediately see a death threat or someone being homophobic or transphobic or ableist and not want to come back and it's just crazy to see how many people get banned for doing that. Because if they're getting banned, that means someone saw it and reported it, which means other people saw it too, and those people may have been new and so put off that they didn't come back to the site. A lot of people have the audacity to say a lot of out pocket shit here that gets overlooked/people are okay with. I dunno.
"it's just crazy to see how many people get banned for doing that" - JUST TO CLARIFY, I'm saying they SHOULD be banned, what's crazy is the number of people saying bannable things
Ben shouldve been permanently removed from the site after what he said ab Druhhs children and as much as i respect the moderators and Sin, i feel pretty strongly its ludicrous he was still allowed on the site after that. I agree with you.
It's always going to be difficult for moderators to have to make decisions in cases like this where rules aren't technically broken but I definitely think we need to be stricter on those who are constantly harrassing others.
this is slightly fearmongery idk i saw what benopolis said and i chuckled it was NOT the offense people are saying it is and frankly an offhand comment like that should not be the ban it was lol.
DakotaMagic this isn’t about a specific occurrence, more about the history and what will eventually come again. You’re fine with it sure and I’m sure many people are but truly think about someone who isn’t used to this type of community, how would they react?
Ethan I think that's fair i just think the two instances you picked are people who only do that with people they have a history with. I have never seen them harrass a new person, and even when they do harrass somebody, its very...quick and over? and I've never seen it be actually serious in any way shape or form.
DakotaMagic DakotaMagic I can tell you as someone who’s been harassed by Halloween and I barely know him it definitely isn’t always only with people they know. As a genuine example think of when Mughees “doxxed” coke. Looking up his IP and the such obviously is bad and shouldn’t be allowed, but the response after about how they all feel unsafe etc was clearly a joke between some group and not serious. As an outsider it can be tough to understand the context, and frankly as an outsider on this site I can easily see why these things will stunt this site in the future.
