i dont understand

why in every mainline pokemon game the main characters mom is always ALONE and just stays in the house by herself after you leave? it makes me feel bad just abandoning her esp when she makes comments like "i guess all kids leave home someday".. i know she gets pokemon to live with in the later games but why cant she just have a nice man?
