random coding blog

I've been coding a bot for the big brother ORG I host, and here are some fun things it does: - Start a nomination ceremony, and posts gifs every time the hoh types in a certain phrase (i.e. "The first houseguest I have nominated for eviction is..." - cue nomination 1 gif) - Send live updates to the viewing lounge that customizes the embed message depending on if you're a houseguest, HOH, nominee, or POV holder - Since the messaging format is rooms based (think breakout rooms in a meeting), I coded a whisper system that allows houseguests to whisper each other if they are in the same room (No need for 1 on 1 channels or using dms to message!) Adding some coded challenges tonight and tomorrow, but overall, I'm pretty happy with how this project is going ^^
