I’m very frustrated and I need to rant

tl;dr I can gamebot every single day of my life except specifically my 8-10 pediatrics class for some fucking reason and it’s genuinely ruining my life Obviously med school has conditioned me to be an early morning person and a late night person and a not many hours of sleep person but I swear im having the worst luck of my life rn As some of you know im shadowing a pediatrician in their consult/procedures (he’s a gastroenterologist, so colonoscopies, endoscopies…), he’s pretty good and pretty popular, it’s not uncommon for a normal work day to go from 7-8 am until 6-8 pm depending mostly on how many patients he has hospitalized, any emergencies, and the amount of consults in a day (for example, sometimes we have 2+ procedures in a day and little consult, other times we have 25+ consults in a day, it varies a lot with the school time since we’re dealing with kids) However, on top of this I have to retake my pediatrics class from last year. I was struggling with a very, VERY… debilitating undiagnosed adhd that finally took a breaking point around that time of the year, I did grgewt in the midterm but during the finals I bombed and got like a 69.4 as a final score. I talked to the chief pediatrician in charge of academics and he would genuinely not budge, he’s very OCD about his course which comes with pros (we get 24 on call days as opposed to other service’s 36 hours, for example) and cons (he will genuinely not budge on anything every, everything is milimetrically measure) Anyways. I have pediatrics and a dermatology + infeftology (im not sure why they’re paired together but they are) classes, however, SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PEDIATRICS CLASS I have been WAKING UP LATE and got to the hospital by the time the class is over and gotten an unjustified abscesses, the problem is after 2 absences (it’s 11 classes, just a detail) you do not get to present your final exam which is worth 50%, effectively failing you. I don’t get why this is happening to me. I’m used to 5:30 am wake ups to be in the hospital and ready by 6:30 every single day, im used to being home by 9 or 10 pm and having to stay up and study. I don’t know why it’s happening specifically every Friday when I have pediatrics class that I can’t make my 8-10 class. I’ve tried everything, today I even woke up at 6 am to be there 30 minutes early just to make extra sure I don’t get there late, but I still fell asleep and slept in for the pediatrics course and got in time for the infectology xourse And like, I don’t MIND repeating the class again, it’s just very frustrating because I am genuinely falling in love with pediatrics and this small mistake is costing me so much for my future (residency interviews look at your curriculum and your classes, imagine trying to get into pediatrics in the same institution when it says you had to take it twice)?. It’s genuinely so annoying. I did amazing in the midterm, I got 88, I was the 2nd highest score. I did amazing in the simulation, I was going to do amazing in the finals exam, I already knew it I haven’t talked to the chief doctor but I just have a feeling the humiliation and shame that comes with even begging for a second chance is not worth it just knowing how neurotic (and I mean this in a good way, he’s very precise!) he is when it comes specifically to his students. It also doesn’t help I’ve had to miss 2 other classes because of sickness :/ Idk. Idk what to do, im feeling very lost lol
