What I like to do is like click on a letter next to the shape you need and see where it takes you so you can see which letter would take you to the letter that would take you directly to the shape

Look for the letters that are surrounding the object you have to get. Landing on those around the board will teleport you near that shape. It takes a minute to get the hang of it.
