Lost Island - Episode 6: Walk in the Labyrinth

Previously on Lost Island: Jordan and Gabs returned to camp after the Duel where Kallie was eliminated. Naturally, everyone wanted to know how it went down. Bigbryy had a somewhat mysterious conversation by the lake but were interrupted by Rainolds. Later that afternoon, the contestants threw a small party by the lake, and Bubba and Nettles shared a steamy make-out session. In the Main Event, the contestants had to toss rings onto pegs with varying point values. Nettles performed the best and won the challenge, taking Rainolds, Bigbryy, and Dawn to the mansion. At the end of the Main Event, Bubba, Jordan, and Tex had accumulated the fewest RPs in the overall standings and will have to face each other in the Duel. DAY 6: Upon arriving at the mansion, Nettles, Rainolds, Bigbryy, and Dawn are welcomed with a special lunch featuring each of their favorite dishes. They quickly rush to enjoy the meal, but the surprises don't stop there. They also receive a video from home, with family and friends encouraging them to fight hard for the prize. It leaves them deeply moved. *Bigbryy’s Confessional: “I know we’ve only been here six days, but it feels like a lifetime. It was so good to see those faces.” Back at the camp, Bubba decides to stir up trouble for Joneduardo by asking how it feels not to be in the mansion anymore. She adds that his days of luxury are over. Joneduardo simply smiles and walks away. *Joneduardo’s confessional: “I’m not going to give her the platform she wants.” *Bubba’s confessional: “He can’t handle the truth and runs away from it like the devil runs from the cross.” Back at the mansion, Bigbryy is off by herself, deep in thought. Dawn arrives and asks if she’s okay. She replies that she is, explaining that today’s videos just made her a bit emotional. Dawn tells her that even though they aren't particularly close, Bigbryy should feel free to talk to her whenever she needs to. Nettles calls them both over to enjoy the pool before today's vote. Over at the campsite, it’s Kimmie who is feeling down. She is sitting under the same tree where she had talked with Bigbryy the day before, and tears keep streaming down her face. But when Joneduardo arrives, she quickly puts on her usual expression—complete with a big smile. Joneduardo notices she’s been crying, of course, but chooses to respect her space. *Kimmie’s Confessional: “I didn’t come here to show weakness. I’m not going to let anyone see me crying.” Lewis watches Jordan and Tex talking in the distance. He assumes they are discussing tomorrow's Duel, where they will face off alongside Bubba. They might even be planning to help each other during the challenge, if possible. He wastes no time warning Bubba that Jordan and Tex are close friends and—if the opportunity arises—will almost certainly team up against him in a two-on-one scenario during the Duel. Bubba thanks Lewis and says he’ll watch out for them. *Bubba’s Confessional: “Obviously, I already knew that, but I needed to let him feel useful. After all, he might actually be useful down the line.” Night falls, and the camp participants are taken to the mansion for the round's vote. “Good evening, competitors! Tonight, we’ll hold another vote to send two of you to the public vote, alongside the top performers from the Main Event and the survivors of the Duel. Interestingly, this week, Jordan was among the top performers in the Main Event and is also a Duel participant, meaning he occupies two spots. This reduces the number of participants eligible for the public vote to five. You already know the rules: you will vote for three competitors, and the two who receive the most votes will advance to the public vote. Naturally, Nettles, Bubba, Jordan, and Tex cannot be voted for, as their spots in the public vote are already secured.” Bigbryy → Kimmie, Rainolds, and Gabs. Bubba → Bigbryy, Rainolds, and Dawn. Bubba can’t help but notice the look of disappointment on Joneduardo’s face at failing—once again—to make it to the public vote. Naturally, she isn't going to let that slide. On the way back to camp, Bubba immediately starts taunting Joneduardo about losing control over his allies. Joneduardo simply replies that he never had control over anything and that she’d be better off worrying about her own ass, which is on the line. *Bubba’s Confessional: “I could be eliminated tomorrow. So, obviously, I’m going to do everything I can to rattle him while we’re here.” As Jordan gazes at the stars by the lake, Char comes over to talk to him. Char remarks that they haven't had much of a chance to get close, but he truly hopes Jordan makes it through this Duel safely. Jordan thanks him and says that if he survives, they’ll have plenty of time to try to get to know each other better. Back at the mansion, Dawn and Rainolds are chatting on the deck. Dawn notes that Rainolds is the only one who has faced every public vote—an incredible feat. Rainolds says it’s nice to know people like him enough to keep sending him to the vote week after week. As the night wears on, the contestants head off to bed one by one, ready to face the new day. DAY 7: The day dawns cloudy. The weather isn't great; it’s very windy, making it nearly impossible to stay outside the cabin. Even so, Bubba, Jordan, and Tex are taken to the ruins to face off in the Duel. “Good morning, competitors! Welcome to another Duel. Today, the three of you will face off to stay in the competition. Today’s challenge is ‘THE MAZE OF ECHOES.’ We have three identical mazes here. Your mission is simple: just reach the other side first. Once I give the signal to start, the maze map will be revealed next to the entrance. You can study it as long as you like and go in and out of the maze to check the map again as often as you deem necessary; however, the more time you spend studying the map—or the more often you go back and forth to look at it—the more you risk giving your opponent an advantage. The last participant to reach the other side of the maze will leave the competition today. Good luck to all three of you!” The three competitors take their positions at the starting point, waiting for the challenge to begin. When the signal sounds, the map of the three labyrinths is revealed. All three spend some time studying the map. Tex is the first to enter the labyrinth. Bubba enters right after. This rattles Jordan a bit, but he decides to take the time he needs to feel confident. After a while, Jordan also begins the course through the labyrinth. Jordan takes a wrong turn and realizes it immediately, so he decides to stop and focus on what he needs to do. He realizes he had been walking in circles. Bubba runs into a dead end. The same happens to Tex. The tension among the competitors is immense, as they do not know how their opponents are faring. After giving it some thought, Jordan goes back to look at the map. He studies the map for a while and then re-enters the labyrinth. Shortly after, he runs into a dead end. Despair begins to take hold of Jordan; he cannot seem to memorize the path. After turning back from the dead end, Bubba walks in circles without realizing it. When she does realize it, she tries to go back to the map but gets lost and cannot find the entrance. Tex is also walking in circles. After hitting several dead ends, Bubba tries to clear her mind to find the way back to the map, but she keeps running into dead ends, which deeply frustrates her. Tex realizes he has been walking in circles and goes back to check the map. Upon re-entering the labyrinth, Tex feels unsure about which way to go at a certain fork in the path. He tries to turn back but also ends up losing his way to the map. After many attempts and several wrong turns, Jordan is finally the first to find the way out of the maze. “Congratulations, Jordan! You’ve secured your spot in the competition. Bubba and Tex had better hurry; there’s only one spot left.” Upon hearing this, Tex becomes anxious. Tex finally finds the map and studies it closely, trying to memorize the route. Bubba is still lost, trying to find her way to the map; she is walking in circles again. When she decides to take a different path to find the entrance and look at the map once more, she accidentally stumbles upon the exit. “Congratulations, Bubba! You’ve just secured your spot in the competition. That means, unfortunately for Tex, the game ends here.” Tex is removed from the maze. He says goodbye to Jordan and Bubba and leaves the island. *End of the sixth episode* The distribution of RPs to the competitors is now in your hands.
