CHALLENGE: 👴 FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT 👴 Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) was a trailblazing American architect, designer, and writer widely considered the greatest American architect of all time. Over a 70-year career, he designed over 1,000 structures, championing "organic architecture"—the philosophy of building in harmony with humanity and the natural environment. Wright is my all time favourite architect and one of the reasons I became an architect! The contestants were tasked with transformation a blank kitchen into their own creation. ☕THE CHALLENGE☕ "MODERN BRUTALISM" Brutalism is an architectural and design style that emerged in the 1950s, characterized by bold geometric shapes, heavy forms, and raw, unadorned materials. Derived from the French term béton brut ("raw concrete"), it emphasizes structural honesty, functionality, and an intentionally stark aesthetic. The first week we are doing the Living Room! The contestants were tasked with transformation a blank living room into their own creation. This week there was no theme so they were able to go in what direction they wanted. 🪑THE CHALLENGE🪑 “THE EAMES CHAIR” Introduced in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair was designed by Charles and Ray Eames and is made of molded plywood and leather. It was the first chair the Eameses designed for the high-end market. The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman are part of the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art. This piece of furniture is a staple for an architect!
