@sin Have a team of “mentors” who premade games (arena in particular) with the noobs. Their job is literally to play with the noob and give them a chance to have a good experience. Assign two mentors to each noob. Each week for a month the mentors rotate, that way the noob has someone else who is helping them along — someone with a different friend group with whom the noob may be able to develop connections. Obviously, premades are boring, but they already exist. Why not have them serve a purpose, one aimed at the long-term growth of the site?
