A figure steps out and their black boots click against the pavement as they approach the back door. Inside, the gas station is empty of people besides Jorge behind the register. He has a textbook sprawled on the counter with a highlighter cap in his mouth, his eyes scanning the passage and highlighting what he thinks are important parts. He hums the lyrics to the song playing on the overhead speakers until he hears a DING-A-LING! of the back door opening, with someone stepping inside. "Welcome in!" Jorge yelps, not looking up from his textbook to continue texting. The soft clicking of boots is heard against the tiled floor, however drowned out from Jorge's humming and the song continuing the play overhead. A figure in black moves along the shelves, peeking out here and there until- CRASH! Something drops to the floor and shatters. Jorge looks up instantly, scanning the shelves near him for whatever that was. "Hello? Did someone just break something? You break it, you buy it!" He blurts out, rolling his eyes- and then suddenly another CRASH! reverberates through the gas station. "What the fuck- can you not?!" Jorge spits, quickly moving from around the counter and investigating what that noise was. He turns a corner down the cooler section and then turns down the next corner- JUMPSCARE! Marquis and Greg stand there, with Greg scolding Marquis for dropping the jar of pickles on the ground. Jorge looks down to see that plus a coke can on the ground... "Maybe you shouldn't have scared me, not funny!" Marquis retorts, picking up the coke bottle and looking up to apologize to Jorge. "Whatever, just get to the cafe to we can talk about the project. I'll clean this up in the meantime." Jorge says, shooing the two away and he goes to the back to grab some cleaning supplies. As he returns, police sirens echo through the streets as they rush down the road. "Geez, I wonder where they're heading.." Jorge murmurs, sweeping up some glass and pickles into his dustpan. ~ 7:00 PM The scene changes to the Reilly Manor, where Fatima and Cody arrive on Cody's truck hauling a bunch of firewood. Fatima exits and begins carrying some party supplies onto the nearby ATV next to the patio. "Cody, get the wood and move it down to the beach. I gotta set up the cool atmosphere of the bonfire- you got the heavy stuff." She barks, picking up an incoming phone call and driving away on the atv down the path towards the beach. Cody sighs, opening the trunk and gets an armfull of logs to carry down to the dock. "...damn..." Cody rolls his eyes as he grumbles down the path. Some people begin to show up, including Cassie, Esperanza, Chloe-Kay, Aleksa, Poof, and Mochalatte, as well as some random students. ~ 6:05 PM Now we are at the Library, where Kwon opens the door for Viola to step into the main entrance. "Thank you!" She exclaims, nodding to Kwon as he follows her. "No problem- where do you think, uh... Sabine? Is sitting at?" He says, trying to remember what she said earlier in class. Viola shrugs in response, "Not sure... maybe if we just look around?" Viola proposes and steps into the row of desks on the right side of the Library. In the back is a wide, circular table with Sabine patiently waiting at the end while staring at the door. Kwon offers a shy wave to say hello- Sabine snaps out of her stupor and waves them over. "Over here!-" She yelps, however is suddenly shushed by neighboring students. She frowns, realizing she was a bit too loud as Viola and Kwon walk up. "Hey Sabine! Ready to talk about our projects?" Kwon asks, sitting into his seat and pulling out a notebook and pencil for note taking. "Yes, I am! I want to do a film about single parent households, how about you guys?" Sabine asks, flipping to a new page in her notebook. Viola shrugs. "Maybe something about certain stereotypes hurting people?" she stirs, unsure about it. "I am thinking of immigration and the mindset of parents moving for their children!" Kwon mentions, to which Viola and Sabine smile. Suddenly, a group of classmates show up to join them- Connorlock, Yemanja, Minerva, Alycia, Thalita, Yun-Jin, and Mileena appear! They all begin talking about their projects and bounce ideas off each other for another hour, eventually leaving after that. ~ 9:30 PM We are brought back to the Reilly manor and the nearby beach bonfire that is thriving with energy and people. Shadows dance along the fire-lit beach as people mingle with one another. Fatima and Cody are talking with Poof, Mochalatte, and Cassie, while Esperanza, Chloe-Kay, and Aleksa talk with Gideon near the bonfire with drinks in hand. All is going well until Fatima gets another phone call- this time from an UNKNOWN NUMBER. Fatima looks over at the other people with her, "BRB! I will be right back. Cody, keep the fire going. We're going all night! WOOO!!" She screams, slipping past the group and walking back up the path towards the Manor. Cody nods, sighing and throwing some more logs into the fire. Cassie, Mocha, and Poof offer some help and the fire is rejuvenated! On the path, Fatima holds the phone to her ear. "Hey, who is this?" "...Hello" The voice on the other line says. "Yeah, hi- do I know you?" She questions, stepping onto the Manor's patio area and passing by the pool. The waves reflect and shimmer across her body as a shadow suddenly rushes past the house. "Am I late to the bonfire party? I heard it was invitation only.." The caller responds. "..umm- no, it's open invite- just don't have sex in the house, and don't break anything either. Fuck on the beach for all I care- we're going all night!" She exclaims, spotting the red and blue drink coolers resting by the outside minibar. She walks over, popping the cooler's lid and searches through the chilly ice for a drink she wants. "Is this your house, Fatima?" The caller questions, causing Fatima to frown. "it's my dads.. now who am I speaking to? Theres like, a hundred people here at the beach so if you come late just come down there." She says, slamming the cooler closed while holding her beer. "I just have another question for you." "Okay, what?" Fatima asks with a bit of irritation in her voice. "What's it like having a father who invests and donates the most money into Goldpeak?" The voice asks, changing the tone of the call. "Excuse me?!" Fatima gasps, looking around incase someone is pranking her. "Why is that even important? If you're going to be a weirdo stalker, do it somewhere else. Don't show up to this party, fuckface!" She annoyingly declines the call with a huff- RING RING! The unknown caller calls again. Fatima starts walking back towards the pathway to the beach as she answers it again- "Dude-" "LISTEN HERE YOU LITTLE BITCH. THE NEXT THING YOUR DADDY IS GOING TO INVEST IN WILL BE YOUR FUNERAL." Suddenly, Ghostface appears from behind a corner of the house and lunges at Fatima, slicing their bowie knife across her forearm. Fatima screams and drops her phone into the sand as she clutches her injured arm to her chest. Ghostface lunges again at her and she swiftly dodges, running towards the glass sliding door into the manor. The sound of the loud speakers blaring today's hits drown out her screams from the patio. Ghostface catches up to her and slings an arm around her, pulling her back- but she slams the back of her head into his mask, disorientating him and she kicks her off of him. She turns around and quickly pushes him over a lounge chair and umbrella, toppling over the edge of the pool and falling in. Ghostface quickly resurfaces and swims to the edge as Fatima opens the sliding door of the manor and runs inside to hide. Fatima runs into the kitchen and drops below the large island just in time as the sliding glass door slams shut. Fatima holds her breath as the only things she can hear are the slow steps of someone down the hallway, the dripping of water hitting the floor, and the muffled sound of the music from the beach. The footsteps continue into the kitchen, and Fatima slowly looks around the left side of the counter- nothing. The footsteps leave the kitchen and go down the hall, leaving Fatima to breathe a sigh of relief. After a few moments, she stands and shuffles quietly to the door to escape- her foot catches the side of a dog bowl, screeching across the floor. Her eyes widen and she goes to bolt out of the kitchen- Ghostface reenters before she can move and slashes his knife across her throat. Fatima gasps, falling back onto the island as she holds her throat for dear life. Eventually she falls to the ground and bleeds out onto the tiled floor... ~ Back at the beach, some time passes since Fatima was there. Gideon looks around and stands up, looking over at Cody. "Hey, do you know where Fatima went? I haven't seen her in awhile- this party needs to get lit!" He exclaims, flashing his empty beer can. "There is some more drinks at the house, I'll go grab the cooler while I go find her... anyone else want to tag along?" Cody asks, looking around at the other people. Poof, Cassie, and Mochalatte agree to tag along, and then Cody nods to Gideon. "We'll be back!" Cody and the other 3 begin hiking back up the pathway to the manor. Gideon, Aleksa, Chloe-Kay, and Esperanza stay back to chill by the bonfire. Cody, Cassie, Poof, and Mochalatte walk up the path and get to the patio. Poof calls out to Fatima, wondering where she is while Cassie and Mocha look around the poolside. Mocha points out a lounge chair and umbrella in the pool, wondering who would throw that in just for fun. Cody pulls out his phone and calls Fatima.. after a few moments of ringing, there is no answer. "Maybe she's inside...?" Cassie questions, looking at the others equally confused. Cody looks over at the coolers and kicks one of them. "We can take these back down in a moment, let's check inside for her." Cody nods to the others as he opens the sliding glass door and steps inside with Cassie, Mocha, and Poof in tow. Cody dials Fatima's phone again- suddenly, they hear a faint ringing coming from a door off of the living room. Poof opens the door and hears the phone ringing from down the stairs into the basement. Cody frowns and starts walking downstairs, Poof shrugs and follows him, leaving Mocha and Cassie on their own. Cassie and Mocha decide to explore the manor while they have the time. They find a neat arcade, the laundry room, and eventually the back way into the kitchen. On the other side of the kitchen was a minibar area. Mocha helped himself over there and opened a nearby minifridged stocked with alcohol, grabbing something for himself. Cassie turned along the island going towards the fridge for a lil snack.. however, as she rounds the island, spots a large puddle of crimson on the floor, with marks leading towards the pantry door. Cassie mentions this to Mocha that someone left a big ass mess of juice on the floor. Mocha laughs as he closes the fridge and steps over... to which he stops his laugh immediately. Cassie opens the pantry door and suddenly, Fatima's bloody, dead ass body flops out and falls onto the floor. Cassie and Mocha scream their head off- suddenly, from behind the minibar, Ghostface jumps out at them!! Mochalatte screams and instinctively throws the beer bottle he just grabbed at Ghostface, clobbering him in the face and the bottle shatters all over. Cassie grabs Mocha's hand and they sprint down the hallway towards the laundry room. Ghostface recuperates quickly and chases after them- he watches them slam the laundry door close, and he momentarily slams into the door with all his might. Cassie had just finished locking the door with the chain lock as Ghostface slams into the door. She screams and pushes herself against the door with Mocha, trying to help keep it closed not having the chain get ripped off it's hinges and letting him inside. Mocha asks what the hell should they do- some laundry machines, baskets, and a closet are available to hide.. but a nearby window looks like the only escape from here. Cassie points it out and Mocha quickly rushes towards it, unlocking it and opening it with ease. He quickly crawls out the window and flops onto the ground below, beckoning Cassie to come next. Ghostface keeps barging, now making more progress as there is one less person keeping him back. Cassie decides to make a run for it and books it to the window! Ghostface pushes forward, but the door gets stuck on the chain lock. He tries to push his hand in and unlock it while Cassie trips over a laundry basket... #oopsie! Cassie gets up as Ghostface huffs, lowering his shoulder and slamming into the door with all his might. The chain break off halfway and Ghostface reers back to do it again. Cassie takes the time to get up and throw herself into the window, getting hauled out with Mocha's help as Ghostface slams his way inside. The two quickly make a break for it and run down the side of the house towards the frotn driveway. Ghostface glares at them from the window, especially Cassie, then accepts defeat and turns to lurk back into the hallways... ~ Downstairs, Cody and Poof walk down a hallway in the basement and find Fatima's phone and a nearby speaker. Cody frowns, picking up the phone as Poof picks up the speaker. Cody's phone call picks up and blares through the speaker, which clearly lured them here. "Did she connect to the speaker and just.. randomly dropped it? So weird-" Suddenly, Cody is cut off as screams echo from upstairs, along with some slamming noises. "Oh shit, what's going on?!" The two boys quickly head back down the hallway and up the stairs to the living room. Upstairs is suddenly real quiet.. the boys look around and are real confused. "Cassie? Mochalatte? Fatima?" Cody calls out, stepping into the kitchen and gasps loudly. Poof walks up and screams at the sight of Fatima dead on the floor. Before they can fully process, Ghostface pops out of the hallway nearby and slams a chair into Poof. Poof collapses in pain as Ghostface then sets their sights on Cody. Cody screams and books it down the hall towards the pool table, where the glass sliding door is on the other side. His freedom is cut short as Ghostface catches up and shoves him into the pool table. Cody slams into the wooden edge and flops to the ground, sending the pool balls and cues to the floor alongside him. He looks up as Ghostface looms over, blade shining in the overhead light and ready to gut him like a fish. Cody screams to stop- then suddenly, Poof come up from behind and slams a pool cue over Ghostface's head. Ghostface collapses onto the ground, momentarily stunned from the sudden impact. Poof grabs Cody's hand and picks him up to his feet. "Lets get the fuck out of here- my truck is right outside!" Cody yelps, pulling Poof with him out the sliding glass door and towards his truck, turning it on and quickly driving away from this horror house. ~ Back at the bonfire, people are still partying and enjoying the vibe while the hosts are all away. Drinks are quickly running out now as the coolers empty, and Gideon looks around. "Where did everyone go? Was it that hard to find Fatima and more drinks?" Gideon questions, to which Aleksa, Esperanza, and Chloe-Kay shrug as they don't know either. Looking around, there is a communal outhouse, a kayak stand by the dock, a pontoon boat at the dock, and some dunes and long stretches of beach around them. Gideon stands up to investigate for himself.. and then the music suddenly cuts out. The friends and other random students look over and see a figure in a black cloak and a white ghost mask turn off the speaker. A male student nearby looks over and walks up to the figure. "Hey, do you mind?! We are-" The guy is suddenly silenced as Ghostface's knife glides across his throat, slashing open and blood spraying everywhere. "What the fuck?!" Gideon screams, getting up along with everyone else as chaos ensues with Ghostface attacking people at random. In the chaos, Gideon, Esperanza, Chloe-Key, and Aleksa run off to hide at the nearby areas by the docks. Gideon grabs Aleksa's hand and pulls her towards the outhouse, while Chloe-Kay and Esperanza run towards the docks. Esperanza quickly swivels behind the kayak stand while Chloe continues towards the dock, spotting a pontoon boat tied to a post. She quickly climbs inside and hides underneath the seats as she hears some footsteps approaching. A random female student stumbles across the docks, begging for her life as Ghostface stalks behind her. Eventually, her pleads are silenced and everything is quiet... too quiet. Chloe's heartbeat increases as she suddenly hears footsteps approach the pontoon. Ghostface looms over the side, glaring over the middle section of the boat for anyone hiding. Chloe sits just perfectly out of view from below the seat... and Ghostface quietly walks away. She breathes a sigh of relief... Esperanza hides behind the kayak rack, shivering to herself and questioning what the fuck just happened- suddenly, a shadow looms over the beach from the docks. She hears footsteps walk along the plank and then crunch against the sand, heading towards her... she gulps as she scoots into the kayak rack. Ghostface looms over the side, looking around for anyone but not seeing anything. He spots the outhouse ahead and begins stalking towards it... little did he know, Esperanza was hiding inside a kayak and she dares not to leave it now. Inside the outhouse are Gideon and Aleksa, who are frantically trying to call 911 on their phones... but the reception out here is terrible! Eventually, Aleksa gets through and starts pleading to the police to come to the Reilly Manor as there is a masked man attacking them- suddenly, the door handle starts jiggling. Ghostface is here!! He begins to pound on the door, eventually barging into it to break it open. Looking around, there were only two stalls and a supply closet to hide in. Gideon tells Aleksa to hide in the closet while he takes the second stall. SLAM! Ghostface bursts open to see nobody in sight. The doors to the stalls and the closet are closed, and all is quiet as the two hiders hold their breath. Ghostface quietly steps in front of the first stall, kicking it open to find... no one. He walks towards the next one- THUD! Something drops to the floor inside the supply closet. Inside, Aleksa accidentally brushed into a roll of toilet paper and it fell onto the floor, letting a soft thud escape and draw Ghostface's attention. He begins to slowly walk towards the door, looking to murder whoever was inside... until Gideon breaks from the second stall and slams into Ghostface, knocking his ass into the mirror and sink and shattering them from the sudden impact. "Try again, bitch!" Gideon yells as he makes his way to the door. Ghostface slowly picks himself up with a groan and begins chasing after Gideon with intention to murder him very gruesomely. Aleksa breathes a sigh of relief as she is left alone in the closet... but is Gideon going to be okay? ~ Gideon runs for his life up the pathway towards the manor. He rushes into the patio and runs up towards the glass sliding door- it doesn't budge! "Who the fuck locked this- HELP, HELP!!" He starts yelling, pounding on the glass sliding door.. until suddenly- Ghostface comes up from behind and stabs Gideon in the lower back, causing him to scream out in pain. Ghostface grabs onto him and throws him against a nearby table. Disorientated, Gideon tries to fight back- a swing and a miss as Ghostface dodges a punch and instead throws Gideon through the glass sliding door and flopping next to the pool table. Gideon groans in absolutely pain, blood soaking his party outfit as he tries to crawl through the glass to get underneath the pool table- Ghostface grabs his ankle and drags him back out from underneath. Gideon spots the lucky 8-ball, grabbing it and flipping himself onto his back. Ghostface kneels down on top of him, reering back his knife to stab him into the chest, but- WHAM! Gideon slams the 8-ball inside Ghostface's head, knocking him off of Gideon and Gideon quickly tries to get to his feet. The sound of police sirens start to echo through the house, which perks up Gideon to start hobbling towards the front door. As quick as he can, he gets to the door and throws it open and runs outside as a police cruiser pulls up in the driveway. "Help me, oh god please help me!! There is a masked psycho inside!" He screams. Sheriff Rocco exits the car and runs up to the boy as his police partner exits the car as well. "Help this boy, get the ambulance here, I'm checking inside!" Rocco shouts, drawing his gun and heading inside through the front door. He makes his sweep throughout the house, finding Fatima's body and the shattered glass door... in which there is no one else there. Suddenly, other students run up from the beach and scream for help. Rocco finds Esperanza, Chloe-Kay, and Aleksa, who detail what happened at the bonfire. Rocco asks for all personnel to make their way to Reilly Manor over the walkie, then leading the girls out to the front of the house to his car. ~ More police arrive alongside an Ambulance that quickly takes Gideon to the hospital, while the other characters stay back for questioning. Meryl Wolfe arrives on scene moments after the ambulance leaves, looking around for anyone to talk to. She spots a nearby Cassie and Mochalatte, who are trying to relay they got chased to an officer. Meryl walks over them as Sheriff Rocco finishes talking to a fellow officer, spotting Meryl. He angrily walks over to shut her down. "Not now, Meryl-" "I told you I was right... Daniel's death wasn't this unfortunate accident." She interrupts, glaring at him with disdain as she steps behind police lines. Rocco grits his teeth as they approach Cassie and Mocha. "Hey! I am Meryl Wolfe from Peak of the Gold. What did you see in there?!" Meryl questions. Cassie turns to them and frowns. "He.. he was wearing a Ghost mask, and a black cloak." She responds. Meryl turns to Rocco and shakes her head. "Seems as if you got a Ghostface running around." The scene fades to black. That's the end of the episode! I hope you all enjoyed! Have you seen Smosh Summer/Winter Games? Maybe something related to that where there are no eliminations, however it's comp or strategy based rounds and the winning team each round gets points. The losing team has the power to steal a member of the winning team or something related so one team doesn't steamroll from having really strong competitors? I feel like a united team based game (like cutthroat or something) could be really fun- especially if teams are randomized and you have to work with new people on comps or other strategies to win the daily challenge. At the end of the game is a major finale kinda like race, but maybe a variety of challenges instead of just one comp? It'll be a bit of a workshop but has great potential! I also think another completely fresh idea could be some sort of trivia game, like the app Trivia Crack or HQ Trivia, that could be just a daily/weekly event (like bingo) . I know people love chatgpt and google to find out answers, but maybe finding a way to make the timer really short so people dont have time to cheat? The expansive pier at the end of main beach of Goldpeak- Gold Beach- is decked out in carnival rides, vendor stalls, a small theater, a restaurant, bathrooms, tourist shoppes, and other festivities. Lots of pathways, nooks, and crannies to get lost in. The pier is lively tonight- the day before the first day of classes every semester is always bustling with young adults partying before school starts. The police always have their hands busy, and tonight is no exception. Students crowd the boardwalk on the last night before Ollidel University's semester begins. Tourists weave between locals. Carnival games flash with neon signs advertising impossible prizes. The Merry-Go-Round ride spins cheerfully nearby, its calliope music carrying through the evening air. A banner overhead reads: WELCOME BACK, OLLIDEL STUDENTS! The camera zooms in on a group of guy friends fucking around with each other as they stand in line for the Merry-Go-Round. A group of girls walk by and settle around a food stall selling hot dogs and pink lemonade. One of the guys, Daniel, leans against the railing to the ride- he's energetic, a little overconfident, and enjoying every second of the celebration. One of his friends nudges him, pointing to one of the girls in the group standing in line. She waves to them as her friends gossip with one another, making each other laugh and giggle. Daniel turns to his friend and raises a brow. "What?" The friend chuckles. "No chance you go talk to her." Daniel scoffs, brushing the friend off. "That's insulting." "Then prove us wrong." The friend retorts, punching Daniel's shoulder. Daniel straightens his jacket and gives the boys a charming smirk. "Watch and learn." His friends erupt into exaggerated cheers as Daniel heads toward the girl. The friends exchange their money for some lemonade and funnel cakes, leaving one for the girl that Daniel approaches. He stops in front of her and the girl smiles politely- there is an awkward charm in the air, but Daniel breaks the silence. "So.. first-year student?" He starts, acting all suave. "Do I look terrified enough to be one?" The girl asks, glaring up at him with intrigue and playfullness. Daniel grins, "A little." He states, causing her to laugh a bit. The conversation continues but not for long as the girl's friend start moving to the merry-go-round as the ride opens up for those in line. Danile hesitates for a moment- then goes in for the kill. "Uh--" He scribbles his number on a nearby napkin, handing it to the girl. "If you survive syllabus week, shoot me a text. I can show you around." The girl accepts the napkin with an amused smile. "I'll consider it." He runs a hand across his cheek as her friends giggle and pull her away towards the ride. Daniel goes back to the Merry-Go-Round to join his friends, but he gets closed out from the ride attendee before he can go in. "Shit- my friends are all in there!" "Sorry man, no more room. Gonna have to wait." The man responds, locking the door and goes to the ride's panel. Daniel rolls his eyes and steps away for a moment as the ride begins, twirling everyone on the merry-go-round in endless circles while the pompous music plays. Daniel wanders over to some nearby carnival games and begins playing as he waits for the ride to end. Some time goes by and Daniel turns around from a Strongman Hammer game. The crowd has shifted, and as he gets back to the Merry-Go-Round, none of his friends are to be found. He checks his phone to see that he has no messages on his dry ass phone. "Seriously?" Annoyed, he wanders farther down the pier toward a quieter section away from the attractions. The music from the midway fades into the distance as he fishes a cigarette and lighter from his pocket, sparking the cig and taking a huff. The end of the pier is noticeably darker, less frequented. The flame from the cigarette flickers in the lake breeze and Daniel begins scrolling through his phone contacts. "I'm never letting them pick the meeting spot again." As he goes to call one of his friends, his phone buzzes. He scoffs, "No way..." his grin continues as he answers the call. "Hey, is this the cute blonde from earlier?" A beat of silence passes, then a darker, ominous voice responds. "Hello, Daniel." Daniel laughs, shaking his head. "Okay, very funny. You talk like that to guys you like?" He asks, fishing for a playful answer. The voice on the other end sounds amused. "You don't sound disappointed." "Where'd you go? Off with your friends.. or, are you now on your own? You seem like a confident girl." "Wouldn't you like to know.. I can be quite shy, actually." Daniel leans against the railing to the pier, the dark waves crash against the pilings below. "You didn't seem shy a little bit ago." A soft, distorted chuckle. "Do you like the voice?" Daniel frowns slightly. "...What? The voice?" "The voice modulator. I thought it'd be more.. interesting." Daniel's smile begins to falter. He pushes off the railing and glances around, a bit confused. "Wait. Who is this?" "You were hoping it was someone else, huh?" Daniel takes a few steps back to the attractions, noticing his area of the pier suddenly feels quite empty. He presses the phone back up to his ear and wedges it into his shoulder as as he rolls up his sleeves with his now free hands. "One of my friends put you up to this?" "Would that make you feel better?" The voice distorts a bit as the merry-go-round begins another rotation nearby. Its bright music drifts through the night, feeling a bit ominous in the moment. A spine chill runs down Daniel's back as he holds the phone normally again. "Look, man—" "I just wanted to ask you something." The voice continues as Daniel rolls his eyes. "What? This better be good, Anonymous." "Do you know what happened in Goldpeak?" Daniel pauses. He has no clues what this person means. "What are you talking about? I transfered here last year.. it's just a beach town with a good school. The fuck else you want?" "Nothing stays buried forever." Daniel turns toward the shadows stretching across the far end of the pier as the Voice's tone sends more chills down his back. "Okay. This isn't funny anymore. Bye, weirdo." Daniel disconnects from the caller and lowers the phone. He takes another drag from his cigarette and flicks off the railing and into the lake water below. There is silence for a moment.. then his phone buzzes again. UNKNOWN CALLER. Daniel rolls his eyes and answers immediately. "Listen, I'm not in the mood to play this game—" "Behind you." The voice interjects quite aggressively. Daniel spins on his heels behind him, seeing the walkway dip below into the underbelly of the pier, connecting to the other side. He looks down it and sees... nothing. The music from the merry-go-round swells as children laugh and people scream playfully from nearby rides. Daniel exhales sharply. "Screw you." He disconnects and pockets his phone, turning around and climbs back up the walkway to the main boardwalk- but he stops in his tracks. A figure in a dark robe steps into view from the top of the steps. They don a white ghost mask, standing motionless and ominous. A knife clutched into their right hand. Daniel scoffs again. "Seriously? Are you trying to scare me or something? Justin if this is another silly prank, I'm too drunk to take it as a joke. Can you just fuck off?!" Daniel spits with some venom in his voice, glaring daggers at the figure. The figure tilts its head and brandishes the knife, the moonlight reflecting into Daniel's eyes. No response. Daniel takes a cautious step backward.. but the figure takes one forward. The phone in Daniel's hand rings once more. Ring, ring, ring- he grabs it from his pocket and stares at the screen. UNKNOWN CALLER. Daniel slowly looks up and answers the phone. "Who are you?" "Someone who remembers." Ghostface lunges forward towards Daniel, to which he quickly turns and runs down the walkway into the underside of the Pier. The calliope music coming from the entire pier blares louder and the bright lights of the pier flash past. Daniel shouts for help- but his voice is swallowed by the sounds of celebration. People continue laughing, cheering even- completely unaware of Daniel being chased by a cloaked assailant. Daniel reaches the railing near the middle section of the pier and notices it has been taped off for construction. Multiple signs pointing to turn around from the oncoming walkway as it broken. The masked figure closes in as Daniel makes a split decision- FIGHT. He turns around and charges back at the figure. The struggle is brief- Daniel punches and kicks the figure back, but one wrong move as the figure ducks out of one of the punches and plunges their knife deep into Daniel's stomach. Daniel screams out in agony, then is thrown against the railing behind him with a sudden force. The figure proceeds to stab Daniel four more times in the chest and stomach. Daniel screams in absolute pain as blood seeps into his clothes and drips onto the walkway- and with a sudden thrust, Daniel gets thrown onto the walkway back towards the stairs. Daniel gasps in pain and tries to crawl away, but the figure grabs onto his side and flips him onto his back. Standing over Daniel, he begins to plead for his life... but the figure- Ghostface- raises their knife and sends it down with slice. The phone slips out of his pocket onto the wooden planks of the walkway, still connected. The distorted voice speaks into the night. "Class is in session." It's the next morning and the sun rises on the Pier first, soon encompassing the town in glorious sunlight. The first day of classes is upon us, and someone at Goldpeak has just been killed by the mysterious Ghostface, unbeknownst to the general public. The scene changes to around 11 AM inside one of Ollidel University's classrooms. A tall woman in a sleek, charcoal grey outfit with matching glasses stands organizing some papers behind the teacher's desk as students file in one by one. A smaller, petite girl with glasses and long, brown hair walks in- it's Viola Vieau. She takes a seat in the second row as another male walks in- Kwon Dong-Jae, who walks up to Viola. "Hey, mind if I sit?" He asks, smiling to her. Viola looks up at the guy and nods. "Sure! Go ahead." Kwon nods and sits down and the two exchange pleasantries. A blonde girl with framed ruby red glasses walks in, her blonde curls bounce slightly as she strides to an empty seat in the front row. Another blond, this time a male, walks in wearing a large overcoat over his shoulder. He takes a spot in the middle row and takes his ear buds out- it's Gideon Apostolos, scanning the other people in the room quietly. Next to enter is Cody Ozolith and Fatima Hardy. Cody has a pompous swoop to his brown hair and his beach apparell on, as if he is going to hit the beach right after class. Fatima is adorned in a similar fashion, however more street appropriate rather than surfer bro. Fatima giggles at a bad joke Cody makes, and it's kinda obvious its fake but Cody eats it up. They sit in the back together as the others start mingling with each other. Next to walk in noteably all of the player characters- Cassie asks to sit next to Viola and Kwon, to which they agree and Kwon pats the seat behind him. Poof sits in the back next to Cody and Fatima, striking them up for a bro convo. Marquid, Yemanja, and Aleksa walk in back-to-back-to-back and sit near the front by Sabine. Chloe-Kay and Esperanza walk in together and take two open spots closest to the door. Thalita, Minerva, Mileena, and Alycia fill in some gaps towards the back behind Viola and Kwon. Mochalatte walks in, scans the room for the best seat, and unfortunately decides its probably in the back and sits there respectively. Lastly, Connorlock, Greg, and Yun-Jin enter and fill in some gaps in the middle. Last to enter are the stragglers- Jorge, unfortunately wearing his work uniform, begrudingly sits near the front. Finally, Osamori walks in, taking the back right seat that was conveniently open. Her aura is dark as she quietly takes out her journal and pencil, ready to begin. There is one last seat left open in the classroom, which it seems as if no one else was going to occupy. The clock strikes 11 AM now, to which Professor Onyx turns around and smiles at the student body in front of her. "Welcome. This is going to be Movies and their Influence 301, meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you are in the wrong class, I'd recommend figuring out where you are supposed to be and leave." She says with a small nod at the end. Fatima scoffs, "...I hope this goth girl thats the hint. Maybe alt girl aesthetic 101 would be a better fit?" She whispers to Cody and some of the PCs in the back, causing a small rumble of laughter to develop. Osamori, the target of this insult, glares at the people laughing then slowly turns back to the front, unphased. Professor Onyx smiles. "Stories shape the way we understand the world, much as gossip runs a narrative. History is often just the version of events people agreed to remember. My name is Professor Esmeralda Onyx, but please just call me Ms. Onyx or just Professor. As an icebreaker, I'd like to start by asking what each of your favorite movies are. Lets start with.." Professor Onyx grabs a clipboard and flips the page, analyzing a student roster and looks to cold call someone.. but then she frowns. "Hmm, seems as if one of you are missing- no matter, I'll take attendance in a moment. First, let's go back to our favorite movies- you, in the middle-" She points right at Viola. "-your favorite movie, please?" Viola looks around and smiles, readjusting in her chair. "Umm.. I guess, Pitch Perfect?" Some people nod in agreement. "Fun- blending comedy and music. How about- Gideon Apostolos, what say you?" Professor Onyx inquires. The spiky-haired blond perks up. "I think the scoring on Interstellar changed my life- well, the movie too. I really like the scores for movies." "Well, I just *love* the Barbie movie. Really great narrative of the woman's perspective." Fatima blurts out, smiling from ear to ear. Professor Onyx nods slightly. "Scores help bridge a movie together, and movies with narratives like Barbie help convey a message or opinion- some, not so popular. This semester, you will have a semester long class project, where you will direct your own short film. It must have a narrative and convey a message that you believe in.. or, rather, something you want to bring to light." Professor Onyx continues, then goes back to discussing more favorite movies. The class continues for some time before a breaking news notification blares on everyone's phones. Some people sneak a peek at the notification and some gasp out loud. "Oh my god??!" "Damn..." "Holy shit!" "..what?" "Oh.." Some people begin to murmur and whisper, which causes Professor Onyx to look on her phone. A notification of an article being posted goes viral very quickly. It reads: ~ LOCAL STUDENT FOUND DEAD WASHED UP ON THE BEACH. "Ollidel University Sophomore Daniel Robinson was found dead on the beach earlier this morning. His body had the appearance of multiple stab wounds, hinting that her was murdered and tossed in the lake last night." ~ Professor Onyx frowns, glaring at the clipboard's roster then setting it slowly back onto the desk behind her. "Alright, class is dismissed. I have to go talk to the Dean. I will see you all on Thursday, have a great day!" Professor Onyx quickly packs up and exits the classroom, leaving all students confused and looking around. Jorge folds his arms, "Well shit, what a party pooper.. who even was that Daniel guy, anyway?" "Well, he wasn't cute, that's for sure." Fatima mutters, chuckling to herself as she flicks through the article on her phone. "Can you not speak of the dead like that? That's pretty rude." Kwon says, spinning in his chair to glare at Fatima with the other classmates glaring at her as well. "What? It's not like he's going to hear it." Fatima jokes, rolling her eyes. Cody chuckles a little bit, finding that amusing, but stops as the other classmates glare at him. A beat of silence lingers before Fatima stands up and collects her belongings. "Whatever. Class is over and I don't care... for those who *do* care, there is going to be a beach bonfire party tonight at the Reilly Manor around 9 PM. Open invite to all! Bring your best attitudes- and a lot of alcohol. Bye!!" She quickly escapes the judgemental stares and leaves the classroom. Cody stands, collecting his stuff and follows her. "Shit, that sounds amazzzzing! I'm totally there." "..I love a good party!" Gideon mentions, getting around to follow suit. Sabine stands as she slumps her backpack's straps over her shoulders. "...well, for those who don't want to go to that, I think I want to get a head start on this film project.. I-if anyone wants to, of course.. maybe at.. 6pm, in the public library?" Sabine asks, looking around at anyone else to agree. Kwon smiles, "Sure, I'll go. Maybe we can find a way to brainstorm and star in each person's film? Coordinate and... whatnot?" Kwon gestures to the group, to which Sabine and Viola smile. "I'll come, I am available. Got nothing else to do tonight... I guess, besides that party." Viola adds as she looks around. Jorge slinks into his seat, moaning to himself before finally pushing himself to his feet and to the door. "I'm out, I gotta head to work-" he stops, turning to the class. "On second thought, if anyone wants free snacks and to hang out at the little cafe inside the gas station, come to the Speedway off of Main Street- at a cost of helping me with my short film." He nods and leaves in a hurry. Osamori simply walks out as she does not give a fuck about these open invitations. Viola raises a brow as Osamori leaves. "...seems as if she is not a fan of any options.. well, I got another class coming up so I'm out- I'll see you guys at the library." Viola smiles and leaves, as well as eventually the rest of the class. ~ The scene changes to Peak of the Gold news office, to which a woman spins in her chair as she stares at her laptop. Her ID badge reads "Meryl Wolfe", and she seems quite annoyed. On her laptop, she seems to be conversing with someone- until a knock at the door of her office snaps her to attention. "Come in!" She yelps, closing out of the conversation and opening up her notes app on the laptop as the door opens. A middle aged man with light stubble, a strong mustache, and a ball cap walks in wearing a tan police uniform. Sheriff Rocco Bellini strides inside, offering Meryl a small smile. "Good morning, Meryl." Meryl rolls her eyes. "Morning, Sherriff. What can I do for you?" She quips, ready to get into the discussion instead of rifling through any small talk. "Okay, how about you pushing past the police boundaries this morning trying to get a snapshot of that dead kid?" He asks sternly, raising an inquisitive brow. "This is the hundredth time you've broken your way onto the scene. I can't allow this any longer, I don't care if you're doing you're job." "Rocco, listen-" "No, Meryl, I'm not listening this time. I'm putting my foot down- if I catch you doing this again, I'm locking you up for trespassing and tampering with a police investigation." Rocco cuts in, putting his hands on his hips near his handcuffs for emphasis. Meryl catches this and stands up, glaring at him. "Is that a threat, Sherriff? I am doing my job getting all the information I need to write this story- I mean shit, you have a dead student who washed ashore with- what, four stab wounds?! How is that not concerning-" "It is concerning- what I don't need is you pushing your way in for a close up or to interrupt our work-" Rocco snaps, but the door ot the office opens once again. Standing in the doorway is a taller man with a bigger belly, a clean white suit, and a tall bucket hat. It's Oscar Ozolith, the mayor of Goldpeak. Meryl rolls her eyes and scoffs to herself, "Jesus, here we go, are you both here to pester me about my job?! Oscar, are you trying to take down another one of my articles?" Meryl says as she starts to get real annoyed now. Oscar gruffs and shakes his head, pulling out a file from behind his back. "You are ruining Ollidel's first day and tarnishing this town's image of paradise! How dare you claim that kid was *murdered* here?!" Meryl is taken aback. "He was stabbed four or five times, Oscar! You think someone just *does* that to themselves or something? Shouldn't a dead student alarm everyone?!" She gestures, looking at both Rocco and Oscar like they're crazy. Oscar drops the case file onto Meryl's desk with a bit of a WHACK. "Here's the coroner's report, expedited for your convenience because of that scummy article you wrote. They found high levels of alcohol in his system- he was drunk! Probably injured himself and stumbled over the railing! Not this- this murder you speak of!" Oscar pushes, looming over a bit imtimidatingly while Meryl opens the case file. Sure enough, the reports say so as well. "Wounds like that don't jus-" "I don't care, Wolfe. This was just an unfortunate accident, and it shall be labeled as such. My press conference later will confirm these results, and you will need to publish an update to this article or remove it entirely. I will not have you tarnish my town, a town you choose to keep wrecking, mind you!" He spits, glaring at Rocco then turns to leave. "End of day, Wolfe!" He then storms out. "..fuckin' asshat." Meryl mutters, folding her arms and taking a few deep breaths. Rocco quietly walks over and closes the case file. "Maybe... maybe it's best to just listen to the mayor, hmm?" "I don't believe that, Rocco. You know my hunches- something is wrong here." She retorts, folding her arms as her brain scrambles. Rocco sighs and walks towards the door. "Just dont interfere with my job, alright? I got it handled." He leaves Meryl alone in her office. It's silent as Meryl gets an uneasy feeling.. she hasn't heard of a murder here.. almost ever? She doesn't like being cornered like that, and she especially isn't going to be shot down. It's time to hit the ground with some field work. ~ END OF EPISODE 1.1 Cast, you must now choose one of the NPC options to hang out at! Your options are: - Go to the Beach Bonfire Party with Fatima, Cody, and Gideon! - Go to the Library to hang out with Sabine, Viola, and Kwon! - Go to the Gas Station to hang out with Jorge! You must also decide if your character is going to RUN or HIDE if Ghostface attacks your location! - RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! - HIDE UNTIL THEY LEAVE! Options will be due Tuesday (6/16) night at 11 PM EST! Hello everyone! I am in the creative state to start a Kovaze Scream Game Blog! I was inspired by @Fancy ’s Slenderman Blog game, and this will work somewhat similarly. How it works is that there will be 2 blogs that make up one episode, with a total of 10 Episodes in the Season. The first blog will be story/lore based on the NPCs and events they are doing, which is just some basic setup for what is to come. At the end of the blog, you will go in the comments and choose which NPC you are going to follow/explore/hang out with, along with an action of RUN or HIDE. - RUN: If the killer(s) attack your location, your instinct is to run like hell towards hopeful safety. - HIDE: If the killer(s) attack your location, your instinct is to hide and pray until they leave. For example, if you want to follow an NPC to the House Party, you would leave a list like “Going with NPC to the House Party. Choosing to RUN as my action.” Anyone who doesn’t submit an action will select the least popular event/location with the action of RUN. The second blog will be the second half of the episode with all of the choices coming into effect with Ghostface(s) Attacking! Ghostface can attack at least 1 event/location each episode. At least 2 episodes will have more than 1 Attack happening. If your event/location is under attack, your action is what is going to keep you alive or get you killed in the end. Ghostface will be programmed to attack either HIDE or RUN that episode. If in that episode Ghostface attacks your action, you will die. For example, if Ghostface is programmed to attack HIDE that episode, all players who chose HIDE will be killed/attacked. This cycle will repeat until the Finale, where everyone will choose between two events and with a final set of 3 actions. If you are able to survive until the end, you win and survive the Ghostface massacre! Story wise, you become a Survivor alongside any others. ~ When you sign up, you also are able to pick one Character Perk. These perks are able to save you if your character makes a bad decision that could lead to their death! Character Perks: 👟 OPPORTUNIST: When you use the RUN action, you will automatically survive even if Ghostface attacks the RUN action that episode- at the expense of someone else. Opportunist has a cooldown of 3 episodes once activated. 🗡️DIVERSION: When you use the HIDE action, you will automatically survive even if Ghostface attacks the HIDE action that turn- at the expense of someone else. Diversion has a cooldown of 3 episodes once activated. 👊 FIGHTER: You unlock a third action- FIGHT. When you use the FIGHT action, you will declare yourself and someone else by naming an NPC or another Character. They must be in the same event/location you are going to. Whoever you choose, you will copy their selected action and stun Ghostface if they were to attack you both, allowing escape for the two of you. Fighter has a cooldown of 3 episodes once activated. 🔄 OBSESSION: Ghostface(s) have taken a liken to you. Ghostface is more likely to attack your location. In return, Ghostface can only kill you from Episode 7 onwards. 🍀 LUCKY: When Ghostface attacks your event/location, you have a 50% to survive every time you make a bad decision. ✨HOPE: You made it this far, you cannot die now. During the finale, you can survive 1 Attack from Ghostface if that was supposed to kill you. 🎭 SUSPECT: Once in the season, you can decide to be a suspect and the Police will take you in for questioning. Instead of picking actions that episode, you will mention that you are using the SUSPECT perk. In that episode, you are immune from being killed as you are stuck in police custody, and after the episode you will be released. SUSPECT can only be used from Episodes 2-8. ~ STORY: The bustling beach town of Goldpeak, Michigan sits along the magnificant Lake Michigan coastline, where it's beautiful beaches, prized local University, and tourist attractions bring in thousands of people every year. Ollidel University houses a few thousand students on it's stunning beachfront and city center campuses, excelling in a wide variety of programs for every student to major in. However, Ollidel University hasn't always had a pretty track record.. but neither has the town itself. The beaches in this town haven't always been so golden, and this incoming freshmen class is going to uncover the dark, hidden truth as to what really goes down at University. One class in particular, Movies and their Influence 301, taught by Professor Esmeralda Onyx, will be the focus of this story, as a serial killer's wake seems to target people in the class. NPCs: - Viola Vieau, Female, 19, attending Ollidel university and decided to take Movies and their Influence 301 for fun. Works at the local Bigby coffee shop and likes to volunteer from time to time. - Kwon Dong-Jae, Male, 20, attending Ollidel university with a passion for helping others. Taking the Movie class as an 'expressive elective', although it really isn't up his alley. Takes his classes seriously but also helps out his friends from time to time when they need him. - Cody Ozolith, Male, 22, attending Ollidel university and grandson to the mayor of Goldpeak, Oscar Ozolith. A bit of a nepo baby. Personally invited by Professor Onyx to take the class. - Osamori Kojima, Female, 20, attending Ollidel University majoring in Literature. Movies and their Influence 301 is apart of her class roster. Silent, observant, cunning. Always is writing about something or someone. - Fatima Hardy, Female, 19, attending Ollidel University to be at the beach 24/7. Randomly picked college courses, does not care about it at all. Here for a fun time not a long time. - Gideon Apostolos, Male, 21, attending Ollidel University majoring in Music. Musical compositions in movies was something that fascinated him, so he took Onyx's class to strengthen his knowledge. Strong, faithful, and charming. - Jorge Castillo, Male, 24, attending Ollidel University and is ready to get the hell out of there.
