Even if my intentions weren’t to hurt or manipulate, the impact is what matters—and I can see now how that put you both in a confusing and unfair position. I shouldn’t have said something that couldn’t be true for both of you. I’m sorry for breaking your trust and for creating doubt where there didn’t need to be any. You both deserved honesty, not mixed messages or something that made you question where you stand. That’s on me. I’m not asking for forgiveness right away, and I understand if you need time.
