A few months ago, we were on the verge of surgery, but a lack of ICU beds at the time halted everything, forcing him to endure six additional, grueling rounds of chemotherapy just to hold on. Today, a new window of hope has opened for him to undergo the Whipple procedure between November and January. However, the hospital requires us to have 100% of the funds secured—covering the surgery, medical supplies, and ICU care—before they will schedule an operating room date.
