The Haus Has Eyes Episode 1

Tajh      ❤ 5    ▲1

THE HAUS HAS EYES 👁️ Hosted by Onyx Royale MEET THE QUEENS: BEAUTY, BEADS & BAD DECISIONS Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged into the Haus. Hello, my gorgeous little disasters! It’s your favorite royal headache, Onyx Royale, and welcome to the very first edition of The Haus Has Eyes, where the compliments are earned, the shade is complimentary, and a beautiful face will NEVER excuse an ugly outfit. Sixteen new contestants have arrived for Season 2 of Drag Haus, and judging by these promotional photographs, somebody told the girls that metallic fabric was on clearance. Silver, gold, chrome, copper, and enough reflective material to redirect traffic on the interstate. Did the producers give everybody the same Pinterest board? Nevertheless, there are some serious contenders here. There are queens who understand silhouette, presentation, and visual storytelling. There are queens who know exactly how to sell a photograph. And then there are a few who apparently confused getting dressed with getting ready to compete. Now, before anybody starts crying in the comments, remember that I’m judging the Meet the Queens promotional looks, not their talent, personalities, or entire drag careers. A great photograph doesn’t guarantee a great competitor, and a questionable outfit doesn’t mean somebody can’t turn the competition upside down. With that established, let’s get into these girls. ⸻ DIMILUX 🇬🇷 — 8.7/10 Dimitra Miss Dimilux said pink is not a color, it’s a constitutional right. The hair is enormous, the crystal-covered corsetry is gorgeous, and the matching crown, gauntlets, and shoes give us a completely realized fantasy. She understands that a promotional photograph is supposed to introduce a STAR. My problem? We’ve seen the pink pageant warrior before. It’s glamorous, absolutely, but I’m waiting for the detail that makes this specifically Dimilux rather than another expensive-looking pink fantasy. Still, she looks fantastic. THE ROYAL READ: “Darling, you look like Barbie conquered a kingdom. Now let’s see if you can conquer a challenge.” LEQUINT 🇬🇧 — 8.2/10 LeQuishaQ Gold, gold, and more gold. Lequint has given us a beautiful metallic mermaid silhouette with an aggressive spiked bodice, and that hair is doing enough work to qualify for overtime. The styling is cohesive, the pose is confident, and the overall image is undeniably glamorous. But here’s the problem: the spikes promise danger while the rest of the look plays it relatively safe. The gown is beautiful, but beauty alone is not an identity. I need to know what makes Lequint different from every other glamorous queen with a good wig and a dramatic train. THE ROYAL READ: “You look like an Oscar statuette with an attitude problem. Lovely, but what’s the talent?” PAIRADOX 🇬🇧 — 9.3/10 Jordan Oh, NOW we’re talking. Two faces, two personalities, and one spectacular silver fantasy. Pairadox understands something that several of these girls seem to have forgotten: drag is supposed to make you LOOK TWICE. The contrasting blonde and black hairstyles, dual crowns, metallic corsetry, enormous feathered outerwear, and asymmetrical footwear create a striking image. The best part is that the concept actually relates to the queen’s name. Imagine that! Branding! My only concern is whether this double-headed fantasy has enough variation to remain interesting throughout a season. A strong gimmick can become a creative prison if you’re not careful. THE ROYAL READ: “Two heads, one body, and apparently twice the taste. Some of these girls couldn’t manage that with one head.” MERLLY MONSEHÁ 🇽🇰 — 9.6/10 Maris EXCUSE ME? Merlly has arrived looking like an extraterrestrial empress who owns the planet you’re standing on. The elongated black hair, otherworldly complexion, metallic floral structures, sculptural lower legs, and delicate dangling ornaments are absolutely extraordinary. This is not merely a glamorous outfit. This is an entire visual identity. Every element contributes to the same strange, beautiful, futuristic universe. If I have one criticism, it’s that the pale silver-on-silver presentation makes some of the smaller details compete for visibility. A little more tonal contrast could make the craftsmanship even more impactful. THE ROYAL READ: “Finally, somebody who understands that being from another planet is more interesting than being from another pageant.” ALPHA KILLER 🇬🇧 — 9.1/10 akaliuchis This queen looks like Marie Antoinette survived the French Revolution and came back for revenge. The sculptural ruff, dramatic white powdered curls, harlequin-inspired metallic patterning, exaggerated hips, and sinister makeup are giving theatrical couture with a genuinely interesting point of view. I appreciate that Alpha Killer hasn’t relied on exposed skin to create impact. The fashion itself is doing the heavy lifting. However, I would have loved a more unexpected color interruption or one truly shocking element. The silhouette is exceptional, but there’s room to make it even more dangerous. THE ROYAL READ: “The aristocracy called. They want their silverware back, and apparently their entire chandelier.” AERYN NOIR 🇸🇰 — 8.8/10 Lyanka Aeryn is beautiful. Annoyingly beautiful, actually. The fiery copper hair against the soft lavender and green iridescent draping creates a dreamy, ethereal fantasy. She looks like a forest spirit who charges a consultation fee before granting wishes. The styling feels delicate, romantic, and intentional. But where is the NOIR, darling? I was promised darkness, and you’ve delivered an enchanted garden at golden hour. The look is lovely, but the danger suggested by the name hasn’t quite arrived. THE ROYAL READ: “You said beware of the dark side, but I’m looking at Tinker Bell’s wealthy cousin.” CARAMELANIE 🇧🇪 — 8.5/10 Mel Now THIS is how you introduce camp without completely abandoning glamour. The enormous candy-wrapper bow, reflective pink fabric, coordinated accessories, and cheeky over-the-shoulder pose give Caramelanie a recognizable identity immediately. She’s playful, polished, and clearly understands her brand. That said, the oversized bow is doing nearly all the storytelling. I would love to see more ingenuity in the actual garment construction beyond the dramatic packaging. But at least I know who this queen is, and that’s more than I can say for some of her competitors. THE ROYAL READ: “The packaging is fabulous. Let’s just pray the candy inside isn’t expired.” JORDIE 🇦🇺 — 7.8/10 Jordie Jordie is serving expensive hair, expensive legs, expensive confidence, and a look that feels suspiciously familiar. Don’t misunderstand me. The photograph is gorgeous. The long blonde waves are immaculate, and the metallic strips create beautiful movement. She knows her angles, and the overall presentation is extremely polished. But compared with the conceptual monsters standing beside her, this feels more like a glamorous performance costume than a statement-making drag identity. I need more imagination. THE ROYAL READ: “Sorry you’re late? Darling, I think your concept is still stuck in traffic.” MUMMY 🇦🇺 — 7.5/10 TommyXx Well, somebody brought the girls a rich auntie with a credit limit. Mummy has given us bombshell blonde hair, exaggerated curves, a metallic mini, white fur, a designer-inspired handbag, and enough jewelry to set off airport security in three countries. The character is clear, and I appreciate the commitment to the glamorous sugar-mummy fantasy. But let’s be serious: in a cast full of elaborate couture, this is essentially a shiny bodysuit with accessories. It’s fun, it’s confident, and it’s photogenic. Is it groundbreaking? Absolutely not. THE ROYAL READ: “Mummy’s here, and apparently she spent the entire costume budget at the handbag counter.” ORGASMIQUE 🇵🇹 — 9.4/10 Torree Now THAT is an entrance. Orgasmique has arrived as a metallic, steampunk-inspired war goddess, complete with architectural wings, mechanical detailing, a dramatic staff, and a commanding silhouette. The contrast between the hard armor and flowing pink fabric is particularly effective. There’s genuine visual storytelling here. This queen looks powerful, intimidating, and prepared to destroy somebody’s runway presentation. My only reservation is the abundance of elements competing for attention. Wings, staff, spikes, gears, metallic draping, and an elaborate headpiece can become visual overload. Fortunately, the strong central silhouette keeps it under control. THE ROYAL READ: “With all those gears and machinery, I hope the performances don’t require a software update.” KORTREE YORK 🇺🇸 — 9.0/10 Kimmie Oh, this is a WOMAN. Kortree York understands glamour on a monumental scale. The bronze palette against her rich complexion is exquisite, and the feathered headdress, matching fan, dramatic outerwear, and jeweled bodysuit create a beautiful showgirl fantasy. What elevates this look is the presentation. She’s not drowning in the costume. She’s commanding it. The pose is effortless, the expression is powerful, and the entire photograph radiates confidence. My critique? The concept is traditional showgirl extravagance rather than a revolutionary fashion statement. But when traditional glamour is executed this beautifully, I can appreciate it. THE ROYAL READ: “Vegas called. They said stop stealing the entire production budget for one entrance.” FAYE CHANCEY ROE 🇵🇭 — 9.7/10 GuiltyAsSin OH, SHE CAME TO COLLECT. Faye has delivered an extraordinary regal fantasy with an architectural crown, enormous fan-like shoulder structures, intricate metallic detailing, and a spectacular embellished train. This is the kind of promotional look that makes you stop scrolling. There’s a commanding symmetry to the upper body, while the exposed leg keeps the composition from becoming completely static. The silhouette is immediately recognizable. And unlike some of the other metallic looks, this feels ceremonial, almost monumental. She looks like a queen who doesn’t need to tell you she’s royalty. If I’m being particularly demanding, I would like a slightly more expressive pose to match the scale of the garment. But fashion-wise? Devastating. THE ROYAL READ: “The colonizer’s nightmare? Baby, with that entrance, you’re everybody’s nightmare.” MOOSE 🇵🇷 — 8.0/10 Tayvie Finally, a drag king has entered the conversation! Moose brings a refreshing change of energy with a metallic purple suit, exaggerated collar, dramatic cape, gold fringe, and a playful, charismatic pose. The personality practically jumps out of the photograph. And I appreciate that he’s not attempting to imitate the queens. He’s bringing his own theatrical masculinity and showmanship. But let’s talk fashion. The outfit is cohesive and energetic, yet the construction and silhouette aren’t quite as ambitious as the strongest looks in the cast. The cape is carrying much of the spectacle. Still, Moose may have something more valuable than a pretty promotional picture: personality. THE ROYAL READ: “You brought the horns, darling. Now bring the fashion that makes me afraid of them.” GLITORIS 🇺🇸 — 8.4/10 Glitter Glitoris has arrived looking like a chrome-plated Hollywood diva from the year 3000. The sculpted metallic bodice, dramatic hip architecture, silver waves, and enormous fishtail train are beautifully coordinated. There’s an old-Hollywood sophistication beneath all that futuristic shine. But I have to ask: how many chrome mermaids can one season reasonably accommodate? This is beautifully executed, but it’s not the most original silhouette in this particular lineup. I need Glitoris to show me the personality behind the polish. THE ROYAL READ: “You’re everywhere and a little messy? Well, the chrome is everywhere. I’m still waiting for the mess.” AISHAH ALI 🇺🇸 — 9.2/10 Morgan Aishah understands the importance of a silhouette. The contrast between the liquid-metal sculptural side and the soft, voluminous silver fabric on the other creates a fascinating fashion composition. One side feels architectural and futuristic; the other feels romantic and almost bridal. The dramatic black hair, refined makeup, and controlled pose give the look a luxurious editorial quality. My criticism is that the softer side could use more deliberate shaping to compete with the extraordinary metallic structure. Nevertheless, this is one of the most sophisticated fashion presentations in the cast. THE ROYAL READ: “One side is haute couture, the other is a thundercloud. Somehow, both are paying rent.” X-FACT HER 🇺🇸 — 7.9/10 X And just when I thought everybody had agreed to become a household appliance, X-Fact Her showed up as a mischievous pink fairy. THANK YOU for giving us a different aesthetic! The metallic pink wings, playful styling, tiny skirt, and character accessory immediately establish a cute, mischievous identity. There’s a recognizable personality here, and I respect that. However, this is also one of the least ambitious fashion constructions in the cast. The outfit feels more like a polished character costume than a fully realized couture moment. The accessory is adorable, but the queen should remain the main attraction. THE ROYAL READ: “Project X? Darling, I’m going to need to see the final project, because this looks like the proposal.” THE ROYAL AWARDS 👑 BEST MEET THE QUEENS LOOK: FAYE CHANCEY ROE A commanding, beautifully realized couture presentation that combines regal drama, elaborate construction, and unmistakable star power. This is how you announce yourself as a serious contender. THE QUEEN TO WATCH: MERLLY MONSEHÁ There’s something genuinely unusual about Merlly’s aesthetic. She isn’t merely trying to be beautiful. She’s building an entirely different universe, and that kind of creative identity could become incredibly powerful in this competition. THE DARK HORSE: CARAMELANIE Don’t underestimate the candy girl. Her fashion may not be the most elaborate, but her branding is crystal clear, and queens who understand comedy, character, and presentation can become very dangerous competitors. THE BIGGEST FASHION DISAPPOINTMENT: MUMMY The character is there. The glamour is there. But compared with the level of fashion this cast has brought, a metallic mini, fur, and a handbag simply aren’t enough to make a major impression. THE FASHION FELONY: JORDIE’S LACK OF ORIGINALITY Beautiful photograph. Beautiful hair. Beautiful body. But where is the defining creative idea? A gorgeous image without a distinctive point of view can disappear very quickly in a competition this visually ambitious. THE WILDCARD: MOOSE The only drag king in this lineup has an opportunity to bring a completely different kind of performance energy. If Moose can match that charisma with stronger fashion, he could surprise everybody. ONYX’S FINAL VERDICT Well, darlings, there you have it. Sixteen contestants, sixteen promotional looks, and a whole lot of metallic fabric that I’m sure somebody is still trying to scrape off the studio floor. At the moment, Faye Chancey Roe, Merlly Monsehá, Orgasmique, and Pairadox have made the strongest visual impressions on me. These contestants have delivered more than pretty pictures. They’ve shown imagination, commitment, and the kind of distinctive presentation that makes drag exciting. But I want to make one thing perfectly clear: a beautiful promotional photograph does not make you a winner. I’ve seen queens arrive looking like royalty and leave looking like they got dressed during a power outage. I’ve also seen underestimated performers turn a competition upside down. So enjoy your moment, ladies and gentlemen. Frame those promotional pictures. Repost those compliments. Argue about these rankings in your group chats. Because once the competition begins, the promotional lighting disappears, the challenges get real, and suddenly all that confidence has to be backed up by actual performance. And believe me, I’ll be watching. I’ve walked the runway. Now I’m reading yours. Until next time, remember: you can fool the judges, you can fool the audience, but you will NEVER fool Onyx Royale. THE HAUS HAS EYES… AND SO DO I. 👁️ — Onyx Royale The shade is free. The critique is earned. #DragHaus #DragHausS2
