ANTM4 Photoshoot 9

Goomybear      ❤ 62    ▲2

#DNTM4 Ok so this week I will do the same thing as last week but the pose will be weighted more by counting that score twice then dividing by 5. Overall I enjoy that this shoot had the most realistic high fashion with the theme in general and the execution from the models was strong as a group! Marilise Pose: 5 Face: 6 Styling: 7 Composition: 7 This pose is probably my least favorite of the bunch, which in a week about the pose that is tough. The overall photo feels clean and polished, but the brief was about creating angles in the pose, and this just feels really uninspired. It is giving Instagram not high fashion. Had you hunches the shoulder forward, tilted the knee the was up a bit toward the camera and the bottom leg bent at the knee resting on the toe instead of the heal it gives a bit more excitement and high fashion. The hair looks better in this shot but I think you could have styled it in a more high fashion way still. You have so much hair to work with I want to see something with it. Total: 6.0 Marquis Pose: 8 Face: 7 Styling: 8 Composition: 7 Pose is the best one when you consider the brief. The only thing I will say about the pose I think actually fits into the composition score more which is that the arm resting on the leg looks a bit oddly placed there (like almost too far in front of the leg), but it is minor. The arm you are resting on could have been angled a biiiiit more so your elbow to hand area isn’t pointed directly to camera. It looks a bit stumpy, but again it’s a minor flaw. The face is good because it looks very high fashion. You do lose a bit of your beautiful bone structure with the lighting. The outfit is super nice it could have even been strong enough without the train of fabric. I am not sure if the photo would look better or worse without the train? This is your best photo of the season either way. Total: 7.6 LeQuishaQ Pose: 7 Face: 7 Styling: 9 Composition: 8 Given the dress, you did about as much as you could do with the lower body, but the brief asking for angles and strong poses means I have to cap this pose score at a 7. The face is strong but needed to catch the light a bit more. The dress is the best styling choice all season from any model. The overall photo stands out and is yet another consistent entry for you. These girls just can’t catch you. Total: 7.6 GuiltyAsSin Pose: 5 Face: 6 Styling: 6 Composition: 7 This is a miss for me. I like what you tried to do but the bottom leg getting cropped out is very distracting to the eye. The upper body is also a bit stiff and could have had some slouch to it or something to make this work. The face is weak except for the eyes. The eyes are giving a good smize, but the rest of your face feels a bit lacking. Overall the photo is good, but when you isolate the parts and compare it to the brief and the other entries, it doesn’t hold up this week. Total: 5.8 SpaceLab Pose: 6 Face: 6 Styling: 6 Composition: 6 If I had to picture your photo before I saw it, this is what I would have pictured in my mind. It’s a fine photo, but this deep in the competition you have to step up and do better than fine. The pose is alright, but what could have elevated this would be the straight leg being a bit closer to the box so your knee goes past the other leg more, and then your upper body hunched a bit forward so you could stick out your neck and serve some sass. The clothes are also fine, but not really the direction I think that matches this studio black and white theme. Some of the others got the memo on what style works for this brief a bit better. I made a few edits just to the pose if you want to see that version to see what I meant. Total: 6.0 CupidStunt Pose: 6 Face: 6 Styling: 8 Composition: 7 Considering the dress, you couldn’t do much with the lower body, but I would have liked to see something. I know this is a real dress, but if you had modified it to have a slightly different bottom to the skit where you would be able to move your legs a bit more you could have worked a different angle with the legs. The upper body is nice but it is a bit look at me, and not exactly saying high fashion. The jaw line is giving as well a the neck, but so much of a profile in this shot I couldn’t score the face higher than 6. The dress is obviously very high fashion, I am a fan of using real looks since none of us really decide what high fashion is, but I would have liked to see some personal touch to it. Style it with some jewelry on the neck even? It is a strong entry but it has more potential than this. Total: 6.6 Antog Pose: 7 Face: 7 Styling: 6 Composition: 7 This pose is not my personal favorite, but I liked that you did something different and made it work. Although the back leg is getting hidden in the fabric I can still see where it goes so it isn’t as bad. I would have maybe liked this better if you had bent the bottom arm a little bit more so the fabric would come up a bit more. Not a lot because then you cross into something tacky, but I think it would have added a bit better angles. Even though the eyes are closed it works for this shot because the makeup is well done and you are catching the light well. I think you could have done more with the styling to make it look more high fashion and elegant, but it isn’t bad. Overall good job but just doesn’t stand out like some of the other photos did. Total: 6.8 Fancy Pose: 7 Face: 7 Styling: 6 Composition: 6 I like the pose. It does create angles and it sets you up for the face which you delivered on. The top and jacket work really really well for this look, but the pants were not the right choice for me. If you had gone with something a bit less busy it would have given this photo a bit more polish. The only other thing that I struggle with is the height of the box. It looks like your elbow should be resting on it the way it is exactly parallel to it, so either the box could have been higher so that you were leaning on it, or you could have tilted your body back a it further to create a better angle. Overall it’s a good shot. Total: 6.6 Ranks Marquis 7.6 Quisha 7.6 Antog 6.8 Fancy 6.6 Cupid 6.6 Marilise 6.0 Space: 6.0 Guilty 5.8

DNTM4 - Flop-O-Meter [Week 8]

Lewis      ❤ 32    ▲18

Welcome back to the Flop O Meter, this week on #DNTM4, Dimitra asked to see shapes, attitude and pure fashion. The divide between the models who understood the assingment and the models fell is massive. The Flop O Meter has calculated the scores.. As always all opinion are my own. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👢 The Biggest Flops (Scores 7 - 10) 👢 GuiltyAsSin - Flop Rating 8 I'm really not obsessed with this. The hat looks completely detached rom the composition, almost like it's just floating unnaturally above your hair line. The outfit choice leans a bit tacky and looks quite cheap for a high fashion shoot. On top of that, the overall positioning feels incredibly awkward, especially the right leg. I wish we could seen the right boot because its absence completely breaks the logic of the photo. The boot on your left leg is beautifully long with the high heel, which begs the question... where are you hiding all that volume for the right leg on such a small plinth? It shatters the reality of the shoot. Im sorry, but for me, this is a boot. SpaceLab - Flop Rating 7 Unfortunately, this is another miss for me. The image has a noticeable blurriness to it that just throws me off from the get go, it ruins the high end clarity required for an editorial fashion campagin. I'm not sure what went wrong during generation but the execution doesn't work. The right hand looks quite awkward and I don't understand the purpose. I am underwhelmed by the styling, it feels like a concept we've seen before, whereas the brief explicitly demanded high fashion. I do enjoy the dramatic shadowing, as it adds moodiness to the shot. But apart from that saving grace, the image heavily lacks impact. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ⚖️ The Medium Flops (Scores 3 - 6.9) ⚖️ LeQuishaQ - Flop Rating 3 This is an undeniable high-fashion serve. To be completely host, I'm not entirely crazy about the hat choice, but I appreciate that it's something different. The pose itself reads unnatural and stiff but somehow within this specific avant garde context, the rigidity actually works in your favor. It's a good job, but not wow enough for me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👑 The Safe Zone (Scores 2.9 - 0)👑 Antog - Flop Rating 2.7 I love the positioning and composition of this shot, it is visually captivating and so good to look at. This doesn't bore me for a second. My critique is that the styling itself could have been elevated a little more to fit high fashion territory, and that hand raised in the air reads a bit too robotic. The minor AI glitches can be the sole reason you miss out on FCO, so it's worth perfecting the errors. Everything else works beautifully though and the face is a serve. I'm usually not a fan of the closed-eye look, but for this specific editorial concept, it works pefectly, well done! CupidStunt - Flop Rating 2.5 Visually, this is completely stunning. I love the outfit and the overall styling, you look phenomenal. Personally, I'm a bit on the fence about the facial expression, it's a bit dull for the ecentric outfit you have. My main critique lies in how the dress flows down to the plinth (this is me being nitpicky)!. The flat, clipped edge of your skirt doesn't make structual sense because the physical box underneath doesn't extend out of that far. Having the fabric realistically drape around the box would've fixed the broken ilusion. However, this is a really strong effort and you easily walked away with the best styling of the week. Well done Marilise - Flop Rating 2 This is great! I really love the distinct editorial direction you chose to explore for this shoot. Your face looks soft, yet it holds an incredible amount of power. The outfit itself is highly fashionable, and I love the sharp geometric shapes the composition creates against your silhoutte. I'll admit I struggle with your photos sometimes because your images are always technically good, but they occassionally miss that show stopping wow factor. I would love to see you start taking risks!!! Well done!! Marquis - Flop Rating 0.3 What another great week for you. This image oozes a distinct personality, which is an era where a lot of the other models unfortunately struggled this week. The styling is gorgeous, and the seen of the fabric interacts with the black and white filter. Your face is serving as always and this is precisely the caliber of work you would see.. The stance is strong, completely natural and free of any awkwardness and that hair styling is chef's kiss. Absolute love! Fancy - Flop Rating 0.2 Once again, I love this. The styling is a total wow moment, and your face card is an absolute serve. You have truly come such a long way in this competition and it is great to see. This image is exactly what I was hoping for when we talk about high fashion, editorial narrative and dynamic posing. I have absolutely zero notes for you... WELL DONE. ----------------------------------------------- Week 8 Leaderboard 1. Fancy 2. Marquis 3. Marilise 4. CupidStunt 5. Antog 6. LeQuisha 7. SpaceLab 8. GuiltyAsSin
