DNTM 4: The Aftercut

tjamal9106      ❤ 78    ▲6

So my time at #DNTM4 has come to an end but it was fun. Here’s a few shots that didn’t make it but I loved feel free to roast them. A few rounds ago @Dimitria asked us a couple questions and mine haven’t changed. Who I think was Strongest- LeQuishaQ she has served killer photos every round and that Cumulative score show. We were also asked who we felt should be eliminated and I said Marilise only from the view of being a past judge she 100% knows what she is doing and is bringing it. Goomybear thanks for the advice and guidance when I was over here overthinking. And with that Tjamal signing out until next time.

DNTM4 Photo Shoot 7

#DNTM4 I will start by saying this was one of my least favorite themes because I knew it would rely heavily on a very AI looking finish and I prefer photos that have more realistic nature to them. I was really hoping someone would use some subtle flames that still become the main element of the photo to hit the brief, but pull off a high fashion classier look with it. I knew that was a tall ask, but I don’t think anyone really hit the mark this week. tjamal9106 Pose: 6 Face: 6 Styling: 6 Composition: 6 This is a safe photo. I feel like we have seen this pose from you before and the same face. The photo is fine, but it is exactly what I expected the photos to look like when I saw the theme, but like not in a good way… I was hoping for something a bit more creative. No one really succeeded at this, but I was looking for he person who found a way to actually make this concept look high fashion. Total: 6.0 Zee_ Pose: 6 Face: 5 Styling: 6 Composition: 7 Could have done more with this pose. The face is actually nice but doesn’t match the energy or the powerful detail from the brief. The dress is interesting but doesn’t stand out in the image (maybe a different color would have helped that?). The overall photo composition is good the balance feels right. Total: 6.0 Marilise Pose: 7 Face: 6 Styling: 6 Composition: 6 The hand above the head is cute, but the finger turned the wrong way is the first thing my eye went to in the photo. I tried not to punish the score for that too much but for me it was noticeable. I think the burning dress concept was smart, but I think it could have been executed a bit better. I wish it was just burning from the bottom up maybe. I think like Katniss in Catching Fire and this was almost that, but not quiet. The face doesn’t really give powerful energy its pretty but sleepy. The hair needs help. Fire the hair stylist (hehe see what I did there?) Total: 6.25 Marquis Pose: 5 Face: 7 Styling: 5 Composition: 6 The pose to me is not giving high fashion. The arms are very stiff and you are losing a lot of your neck with the way your head I tilted. The face is the best part of the photo as you have very great bone structure and you are showing it off well. The outfit is the same as what you wore in the street shoot? I’d like to see something else from you. Total: 5.75 LeQuishaQ Pose: 6 Face: 8 Styling: 6 Composition: 7 The pose is a bit safe and I almost scored it a 5, but I appreciate the concept and creativity of adding the stairs for the movement so I gave it a 6. The face is stunning because you are giving a subtle smirk like you were the one who set the place on fire but still look like a model. The body of the dress looks great but the train and burning details were not executed that well. The overall photo was balanced and well executed, and it stands out from the bunch. Total: 6.75 GuiltyAsSin Pose: 5 Face: 6 Styling: 8 Composition: 8 The pose is off for me because although I appreciate simple more than the judges probably do, I think this wasn’t executed that well. You lose your legs in the dress, so give us some arms, oh no one is behind you and the other is stick straight at your side… I want more. The face is fine but the makeup could have been elevated here. The dress is great (just watch those revealing hip creases again). I love the composition that the flames are incorporated into the dress in a way that works for me. It doesn’t exactly scream realism, but I somehow still like it? Total: 6.75 SpaceLab Pose: 4 Face: 7 Styling: 5 Composition: 5 This photo confuses me. The pose is neither fashionable or flattering. You had a few strong poses lately that I thought were going in the right direction, but this is a step back. The face looks great, but since you are leaning back you lose your neck and it creates an odd angle to view the model from. The styling is boring and the textures ended up very AI processed. I also don’t really understand why you re burning books? Do you not support free speech? Maybe I am missing the point but I just think you have done better and can do better than this. Total: 5.25 CupidStunt Pose: 6 Face: 6 Styling: 6 Composition: 7 I like the concept of the pose, but it’s execution has some critical mistakes. For one, your arm hides your other leg and therefore makes your model look very short and cramped. The second thing is it hides the majority of the outfit so we can’t really see what is going on with the detailing, which looks like it could have been good, but it just looks like a body suit now… The face is ok, but looks a little like a possessed demon, which if that is what you were going for in the theme its good, but it’s a bit less model than I would like. I think the styling would be scored higher if I could see it. With all of that said, the photo does come together and looks good overall, but it could have been great with some of those small tweaks. I like that you included a lighter to make the flames at least make sense. Total: 6.25 Antog Pose: 7 Face: 6 Styling: 7 Composition: 7 I like the pose but the legs do look a bit uneven. The face is pretty but we aren’t smizing here. It is just lacking that extra connection with the camera to pop. The styling is fun but I would have liked to see longer gloves and a bit more fabric on the body of the dress, it is a bit too revealing for this look. The balance of the photo feels right but the burning dress again wasn’t executed that well, I think that must be very tricky with the AI to get it right. Total: 6.75 Fancy Pose: 5 Face: 8 Styling: 7 Composition: 6 This pose could have worked if the lighting was better to see your lower body definition. It might just be an upload issue, but on the photo I can see your legs sort of just vanish into the floor. Some subtle detailing with the fingers or tension in the hands could have added drama to this photo, right now everything just looks a bit too relaxed here. The face is stunning and the eyes work in this photo. I like the direction you went with the styling, but again its hard to see the outfit, but the head piece and accessories are great. Overall if the lighting was better this would help the photo a lot. Total: 6.5 Ranks Guilty/Quisha/Antog 6.75 IDK who I pick for top photo. Fancy: 6.5 Marilise: 6.25 Cupid: 6.25 Zee: 6.0 TJ: 6.0 Marquis: 5.75 Space: 5.25 Honestly since the theme was so uninspiring for me, I know I ranked these photos all lower than I’m sure the judges will, but this was just not a great week for anyone really. I am not at all confident that my rankings will match the judges so don’t be offended.
