SPOILER!!

First time doing this kind of review. Lots of strong work here, genuinely hard to rank. #DNTM2 Dimitra 11th - lluckygc Not a bad photograph by any means, the red gown is striking and the marble setting is clean. But within this specific series, it feels the least connected to the "fearless in a spider bath" concept. The model's expression and body language read as a standard fashion editorial pose, and the spiders feel like an afterthought rather than an intentional element of the scene. With more commitment to the theme in the pose and expression, this could rank much higher. This is the image in which the spiders function least as a thematic element. They are distributed around the tub's perimeter in a way that reads as decoration, arranged, placed, chosen, rather than encountered. The model's pose is a standard three-quarter recline that would appear in any contemporary fashion editorial. The expression is neutral and composed, which could theoretically communicate fearlessness, but without any visual tension in the image to be fearless against, there is nothing for the composure to push back on. Dominance requires a presence to dominate. This image offers no such presence, and the result is a well-produced photograph that could be selling the gown, the bathroom, or the lifestyle, but not the concept. 10th - akaliuchis The complementary colour pairing of red hair and green gown is the image's most deliberately constructed element, and it demonstrates visual literacy. But the sheer fabric, which requires intentional, controlled styling to read as powerful rather than fragile, is placed in conditions (flat light, static setting) that undermine it. The spiders are well-sized but placed predominantly on the limbs rather than the gown, which misses the opportunity to make the fabric itself the site of the encounter. The pose's dynamism does not translate into dominance: it reads as a stretch or a pose for the camera rather than a state of being. 9th - manyomash The styling is the strongest argument for dominance: emerald and gold are colours of wealth, power, and status across most visual traditions. The volume of spiders, if properly managed, could have made this the most overwhelming statement of fearlessness in the set, surrounded by hundreds of spiders, completely unmoved. But the model's expression is neutral to the point of blankness, and the posed hand gesture (touching the necklace) reads as uncertainty rather than confidence. With a clearer expression and better-controlled lighting that separated the face from the spider mass, this image could rank much higher. 8th - Antog Visually ambitious, the divine or superhuman register is a valid and interesting interpretation of "fearless dominance", fear is irrelevant when you are something other than human. The halo reinforces this. The spider offered to the viewer on an open palm is the boldest single gesture in the series and communicates dominance through generosity rather than aggression, she has so much power over these creatures that she can gift them. The execution is held back almost entirely by the lighting and the illegible spider placement, which makes the image's conceptual strength invisible at first glance. 7th - MissKant The ritual framing is the strongest thematic idea here, sitting amid candles and spiders as though presiding over something, not enduring it. The hands placed behind the head project ease and ownership of the space. The pink is a deliberate contrast with the dark web-covered walls and the candle-warmed shadows, which read as a refusal to adopt the expected aesthetic of danger. The spider count is modest compared to other images in the set, which paradoxically reduces the image's claim to dominance; more spiders would have raised the stakes and made the calm more impressive. 6th - Sprite This is the riskiest image in the set conceptually, and its success is partial. The colourful spiders diminish the perceived threat, they read as decorative rather than dangerous, which shifts the tone from "fearless dominance" toward "whimsical indifference." That is not entirely wrong, but it is a different emotional register than the brief implies. The expression does not compensate: it is blank rather than commanding. A stronger directorial choice would have been to lean fully into the absurdism; a very deliberate, theatrical expression of boredom or amusement would have made the image memorable for the right reasons. As it stands, the aesthetic is the most original in the set and overall i like it! 5th - Maris I like it! The clean white tub and white-tiled drain visible at the bottom grounds the image in reality rather than fantasy, which gives the fearlessness a more quotidian, self-assured quality. Dominance through composure rather than gesture: the fan held up as a shield that she clearly does not need, the gaze slightly downward and inward rather than confrontational. It reads as a woman entirely unbothered, which is its own form of power. The cultural coding of the kimono adds a dimension of ritual or ceremony to the act of sitting among spiders, as though it is a practised and deliberate state. What prevents this from ranking higher is that the lighting does not serve the concept's sophistication; the image deserves better technical execution. 4th - Medusaluh The most successful subversion of the Gothic expectation in the set. Fearlessness here is expressed through indifference dressed as elegance, she has dressed as though spiders are simply not worth changing plans for. The hat and stocking heels maintain the Edwardian theatricality while the spiders crawling over them are rendered mundane. The expression is the weakest link: a slightly more composed or imperious gaze would close the gap between the strong styling and the theme. <3 3rd - Jane The spider positioned at the model's open mouth is the single most arresting detail in the entire series, it demands a reaction from the viewer and forces a reappraisal of who holds the power. The serenity of the closed eyes alongside this detail communicates that fearlessness is not merely the absence of fear but a state of complete integration with danger. The white dress blending into the web is a minor visual loss, as it reduces the figure-to-ground clarity but I love it. It's unique and stands out. 2nd - KaliMinaj (i'm biased, but I LOVE IT.) I LOVE IT. This is the only image in the set where the model's body language, expression, and styling all serve the same narrative simultaneously. The open mouth, releasing rather than screaming, signals indifference to the spiders. The fully extended arms reaching over the tub's edge read as ownership of the space. The lace, with its spider-web pattern, collapses the boundary between the model and the spiders: she does not merely tolerate them, she is made of the same material. This layering of meaning is the strongest conceptual achievement to me. 1st - BRAT The only image in the set shot at eye level, and it uses that choice deliberately: the viewer confronts the model rather than surveying her, which shifts the power dynamic entirely in her favour. The structured high collar and shoulder architecture of the costume project authority before the pose even registers. The model's seated posture, upright, arms resting, gaze direct, reads as a queen receiving an audience. The large, well-chosen tarantulas are proportionally credible for the setting. The background storytelling (ruin, abandonment) implies she has outlasted everything around her, adding a temporal dimension to her dominance. The only weakness is that the busy background occasionally pulls focus away from the model's face, which is where the theme ultimately lives. I love it tbh. <3

Hello models, I know I'm a little bit late this week after a busy birthday weekend but I still wanted to do this. I'll say this is my favourite theme so far and I think most of you really did your big one this week. It's in the same realm when we did or snake photoshoot and it was for sure one of my favourites to do so I hope you all had an amazing time. Maris - Your face is solo strong here, I love the pose and the fan. The petals seem like an after thought that doesn't really go in with any of the theme given or vibe your giving, I think it distracted me a bit. Spider being black and so is your robe blends in all together a little bit too much, would have loved a pop of color somewhere, the tiny bit of red in the spider is not the fully a pop and same thing with the petals. It's a good week for you but you never fully miss or hit it out of the park for me, I would love for you to go bonkers on a photoshoot and do something completely unexpected. Jane - As someone who went for a similar-ish vibe in my snake photoshoot with the snake being in my mouth you really outdid yourself here. I can see sexy, high fashion, concept, conquering the fear. You being covered in spiderwebs UUUUUGH IT'S SO FUCKING GOOOOD cause it could've read very quickly party city Halloween but daaaamn I love that you always give originality, concept and elevate it. It's been sooo consistently good from you since like photoshoot3 I believe it was. Please keep it up, I'm enjoying you soooo much. lluckygc - This falls under the very safe category for me. It's literally just giving first attempt photo, it looks very plain and not special. The dress is the best part of the photo but for some reason the spiders are like too accurately positioned making them seem like toy/fake spiders, there's no messiness. I have been enjoying you more than the judges have but you need to pick it up, the competition is really starting to heat up and plain safe isn't going to get you much further. Brat - This is high fashion mom!! Welcome back. I reaffirm from what I said last week that your POV is always very strong whether I like it or not and I appreciate that a lot. I love the concept of it being like an abandoned house and that's where the spiders live and you're in THEIR home, it's powerful. As I said with Maris's I do miss some pop of color but at least you elevated it a lot with the outfit, pose and concept. Sprite - WELCOME BACK! I missed you sm. This is... UGH breathtaking. You're vision with colors is just exquisite I LOOOOOVE the color palette, you never go for the predictable choice, you always take it one step further. The spiders not being black and having white spots adding another color as well is just so smart, so well balanced, while people see spiders and go to dark colors and dark atmosphere you took it all the way around without missing the point. I love the look you're giving the camera, it's idgaf this is where I belong while still having power in it. Also I love that you don't go for the super realistic skin like real model, it still looks avatar-ish and I know that's really hard to make it look good since when I started that's where I was going but I just couldn't make it work, but you do it wonderfully. missKant - The wig magician. You serve us a different look every single time and I appreciate that but that part of your hair being dark with the dark background, it kinda misses the point of such a stunning and unique hairstyle. As I said in some, I miss some pop of color, would have loved if the candles were red and maybe so was your outfit. The ballerina point shoes are a bit of a miss for me since it doesn't go at all with the vibe you're giving. In general it's a bit too dark for me, I can't really tell if what's in the bathtub under the model are a blob of spiders or mold, I lose a lot of details cause of the lighting. KaliMinaj - This is a very strong photo but I'm having the same issue as with some of the photos. The blob of black on the bottom part of the bathtub idk if they are spiders, your dress or what. The texture of the dress is too similar to the texture of the spiders in the picture so I lose it a little bit but I do love your pose and expression, would have loved for your eyes to be a bit more open to have a better look at you. The hand placement of the bathtub I love, it's giving take me out of here but not yet cause I'm ready to serve cunt. AntoG - I'm very confused what's that Ray of light hitting the top of the bathtub, it's not hitting your face or highlighting anything important in the picture. I think a lot of you went for the predictable black spider black background and I just lose a lot of the picture with it. Holding the spider is a would have appreciated if it was a more interesting pose while holding it but it's giving idgaf about these spiders, I'm their mom. akaliuchis - Red and green? Yes thank you. I really like the pose but that legs needs to be straightened so it doesn't give lazy, it needs to be fierce. The hair is perfectly placed. Even though the bathtub is empty by Dimitra's prompt, I really like how the bottom of your dress is still giving a little bit of a wet effect. I'm missing some spiders in your hair, face, hands to add more drama to the picture but still a strong week for you. manyomash - I lose your face completely being so far away, I think this is something that I have said to you more than once but this week is even worse since it's so dark in the photo. The arms are giving lazy/tired with no intention, it cheapens it a bit. Love the dress and how you added some color to the spiders to add a tiny bit more of color to the overall photo. I'm very impressed this week, nobody did bad this week for me so I fear for the girls that just went for safe. The competition has heated up since the girl groups, so it's now or never models, pick it up!! Photoshoot6 ranking: 1. Sprite 2. Jane 3. Akaliuchis 4. Brat 5. KaliMinaj 6. Manyomash 7. AntoG 8. MissKant 9. Maris 10. lluckygc #DNTM2 Dimitra
