Actual serious deep real life question
Do you think/feel like you have empathy? AKA: "essentially putting yourself in someone else's shoes - It involves recognizing another's emotional state, feeling with them, and understanding their perspective."
I feel like so many people just do not have this skill... but I often wonder if they are even aware it exists and lack it, or just truly think everyone is as self obsessed and in their own mind? Its frustrating trying to have a simple conversation, debate, or argument with someone who truly has no empathy and refuses to see any perspective aside from their own.
I often worry too much about what others feel, to the point I have put myself in awkward situations to prevent the other person feeling a certain way or experiencing something negative.

I find too many people confuse sympathy for empathy and actually lack the skill of being empathetic 🙂↕️
on a real real note most of the time i can’t even recognize my own emotional state much less others

I think in my real life I have too much empathy to the point it makes me sick and it impacts every facet of my life. I am a huge people pleaser, I hate the thought of hurting peoples feelings, and then like at work I am a project manager and I dread having to confront people who arent doing things properly.
Honestly far too much empathy, Im a nurse so I think after 7 yrs of that my brain is trained to be empathetic in almost all situations. Which can be annoying at times
