but I'm kinda here for Trump building a 250-foot-tall arch, like sure, why the hell not. I go to Europe and look at their cities, or even here in the US at older buildings, and wonder why we don't build architecturally interesting things anymore

its sad to see how ugly our buildings have gotten lmao. but honestly it comes down to cost & zoning laws. making the same building 500 times over is far cheaper than a unique building or several unique buildings. in my city you can buy land thats apart of a community but you have to meet these weird ass requirements like "it must be two stories, be at least 1500 square feet on the main level and must feature a deck"

I love the old world aesthetics

If it was art for the sake of art, sure. But it's art for the sake of idol worship so it's low-key gross af to me.

RobbieRIOT Think of how many marvels of the world in terms of architecture have been built in the past for the sake of idol worship though, and we look at them in awe today. Sure, not the best way to go about it, but it's structurally beautiful nonetheless and can be appreciated for years Idk, not for everyone to agree on obviously LOL, I think it would be great, I feel like today's world has lost its spark, color, and architectural beauty. We're living in a world of block houses and gray tones
