1v1 Training Grounds?
I'm thinking of removing Elo for Hysteria, and instead having a 1v1 "Training Ground" game (it would be a side feature like bingo) where you get matched with an opponent and play a comp against them which will change your elo. This should satisfy both the practice comp crowd and still have a competitive elo scene for those who want to climb!
I loved the idea of having elo for games but I'm not sure the site is big enough yet to sustain fairness in an 11 person ranked game.
I also think Hysteria would in turn become more exciting if players could swing big without fearing their elo dropping. This begs the question though - Waiting Rooms or no waiting rooms? 1 Game at a time? Lots to think about.

Also i join games alone all the time and rarely have an issue with premades. I find most players are pretty fluid in the games.
I like the ELO and for the games and waiting room. Think if the lobbies were random that would solve all that. But I am also just fine a 22 person maybe 20 person lobby where everyone waits and they get into a random game no ELO and thats that. I always thought the waiting room was a good concept especially for big premades. Also no unenroll. Think the games would fill faster this way. People mostly complain about the ELO lobby they get in or a waiting room and think that is mostly because of them waiting when people are enrolling and unenrolling. If people don't want to wait don't join the game in the 1st place. They fill sorta fast for the most part but when people unenroll and see all of a sudden theres less people in the lobby that discourages from potentially more people joining if people see a certain amount of people they will join. Just my opinion. I like the 1 v 1 training grounds because I feel like it would be good practice for challenges! ELO for that I just feel like the people who are good at comps would just climb that lol. Maybe a random 2 v 2? If you want to incorporate an ELO system for that.
I think waiting rooms are great. If takes a bit longer to fill which isn't amazing, but for sure helps break up some big premades. I don't really understand how the Elo sorts people anyhow. I had 1200 elo once and ended up in the 900 elo game so I can't really comment on that cuz I don't even get how it works anyhow. Genuine question, but are people really caring about the Elo? Like is there a reward for highest elo at the end of a season?
I would like to be able to practice on holey and guitar. Those are the main challenges that I need to practice.
i kinda liked the idea of ELO being more meaningful than points. Cause after leaving a couple months and coming back, its basically impossible without going full gamebot and winning eveyething, to realistically get in the top 100. So if you keep ELO how it is, or at least make it so more games use ELO, it will become more meaningful. During my break away from Kovaze, i regularly played GeoGessr ---which uses ELO basically and it works kinda like you are saying... 1 v 1 with someone around current rank and then increase or decrease usually max like 21+/- but depends on opponents ELO. and they have difffernt Tiers so that you are usually paying people in your Tier/ trying to have the highest score in your Tier so you can move up... they do it with [Championship Division>Master 1> Master 2>Master 3> Gold 1> Gold 2, Gold 3> ect..... Thought I'd explain how they do it over there if you had any tips or ways to improve from how ELO is used on Kovaze. I do believe that there are more users on that site though so maybe thats why it works better, idk? I like the waiting rooms!

Also a suggestion is you can put 5 people in the battle ground . The player with the weakest score eliminate till the remain the one winner . So with 5 people each game battle , can have 5 levels of elo to share to the players ( like hysteria ) example 1st + 100 2nd + 60 3rd + 10 4th - 30 5th - 60 Or for more fun can have 10 players But don’t give points and koinz ( or a small amount of coins , but not points cuz isn’t a game ) Keep it only for Elo and practice way

I like the idea of doing comps with people in your same rank, because the scores would be close (hopefully). It's not fun going against someone who can easily get 10,000 in holey, and your excitement over beating your personal best of 3000 just disappears. It would encourage those to challenge the good comp players in Arena and not hope for luck comps (but I do love them). There have been numerous games that I avoid playing because I see comp beasts and obvious tight groups where joining them would ensure that I would get an early boot and have no chance of winning or even getting to know people since they are focused on doing the comps or just talking to their groups and ignoring others. The waiting room AT LEASTS gives me a chance to avoid some of it. Kind of like how luck comps gives those a chance to win and beat those who play and train these challenges like their lives are on the line. Yeah, it sucks waiting, but that is why there is an unenroll button. I haven't played that many hysteria's but the ones I have played have all been fun because I had no clue who I was against and I had to quickly adapt just like everyone else even if a group tried to join together, they still would have to scramble if they got split up. If people are scared to make big swing moves because of a rank, then that is on them. High risk, high reward. Also, I love the addition of the waiting rooms in outcasted and frenzy tbh I also appreciate that you are thinking of ways to give players more opportunity to play the mini games risk free

honestly i almost suggested something like this! like how on zwooper there was a daily leaderboard for each comp, which paid out at reset each day. it was nice to have something you could do casually and solo.
It would be possible if you add just one more waiting room to prevent people from joining the same games with their friends to premade with them. More people to randomize, less chances of the same friend group playing together
