Okay So

My son turns two in like nine days. My wife really wants to get him some Ariel doll she claims he keeps wanting whenever they're at Target. Most of his toys now are pretty gender neutral, learning toys. He doesn't really do pretend play yet but we're getting there. I told my wife that we should just get him a GI Joe or even just a normal baby doll if he wants a doll that bad. She got really defensive and weird when i suggested maybe not doing the Ariel doll. I mean it's a princess and our son isn't even two? She keeps trying to make me out to be homophobic or something. Ironic because she knows about my time in college (iykyk). I just want my son to be protected. Am I being an asshole?

nah man, this might come off insensitive, but raise him like a boy and allow him to find out for himself later. Young boys can be ruthless, and a childhood filled with Disney princesses while the other boys are playing sports won't help him get along.

maybe start him young with the dolls so he knows how to treat a woman properly growing up like his straight father
