I never understood

Dating shows like the bachelor/bachelorette where like 30 or so people are competing against each other for one persons affection. The idea of competing against other people for genuine love all from the same person feels so wrong and goes against the concept of genuine human connection in my mind! Not saying it isn’t good tv though, it’s just the concept that’s sooooo odd and feels so dehumanizing to me
