Hey everyone, I want to address the general moderation tension that’s been happening lately. Kovaze has grown quickly, and with that comes a higher volume of reports, conflict, and situations that need decisions made fast. That pressure has been hitting the moderation side hard, and I’m not going to pretend it hasn’t affected me too. I’ll be straight: there have been moments where I’ve reacted emotionally - snapping, speaking too harshly, or handling something while annoyed, and even when the decision itself was justified, the delivery wasn’t always how it should’ve been. As the owner, I’m held to a higher standard, and I’m taking that seriously. I’m not here to debate specific cases publicly, and I’m not walking back the fact that rules still need to be enforced to keep the site safe. But I do recognise that the way things are communicated and handled matters, and we’re making improvements. What’s changing moving forward: • We’re bringing in additional moderators so the workload isn’t sitting on a small group of people (and so decisions aren’t being made under pressure). • Reports and bans will run through the moderation team only, and I should be contacted only in cases of an emergency (such as hacking). • We're introducing an honour system to reward users who have demonstrated good behaviour, and to be more consistent with our bans. More on this soon. I’ll still handle the situations that require direct admin involvement (like multi-accounting/security issues and urgent), but please do not contact me regarding moderation issues. If you’ve felt uneasy watching how things have played out, I understand why. The goal is for Kovaze to feel fun, welcoming, and stable without compromising safety. If it would help, I’m open to doing a live Q&A so people can ask questions about how moderation will work from here and we can reduce rumours and confusion.
