and have no clue how to take any criticism and jump to being the victim SO fast. It's not always an attack. You did something kind of shitty. It's okay? We all do? It is not a personal grievance to call you out for being a part of gatekeeping to the community for newer players. You could simply be better about it or acknowledge it.
I do not still have a grievance! I just find it odd to comment that you are not sure it is fixable when you are contributing to the problem (Of gatekeeping newer players from enjoying games in this specific case with large premades).

Lover I hate that replies have a limit now. You need to let go of the notion that I am upset. I was stating an example I had where IF I WERE A NEW PLAYER, that would be harmful to the community and enjoyment. I am personally fine with it. It was fun, I had a fun time beating half of you then losing. That is totally just what it is. However I think of everything from a critical lens at all times. It was a premade of 6 in a game of 11 people. That's just what it was. I don't see how a new player going into that is supposed to find any enjoyment in this site.
DakotaMagic that is true, yeah! but that will happen in any game, on so many sites that have limited player bases. I think we can find other solutions that aren't just "don't let people play with their friends" because, though that would ultimately solve everything, it wouldn't help the website any and it would be almost impossible to implement without fucking the filling times
Lover and thats fair! I don't have the urge to fill a game with my friends ever so maybe I don't get why it would kill things. I think it might slow some enrollment times for sure. I don't think its ever anything that could fully be enforced. But I was simply stating the problem and I do think its largely a community problem being closed off/cliquey already, and not a game format problem.
DakotaMagic we were all in a call doing nothing, so we joined a game. which is something that will always happen and has always happened. people like to do things with their friends - I dont think it's necessarily a good idea to just say "okay you can only play with 2 of your friends, even though there's 6 of you" or something like that I get it, but I don't think it's a community problem, I really don't. It's just how people are when they have friends or people they like.
coming for my personality is very much an attack lol - which is fine! but as for the other issue, everybody joins with friends. it's just a thing people do, and it's something people will always do. it's not a community issue, like I said it's common sense and it's also what this site influences. you're supposed to make friends, so what will you do with those friends? join games, and that isn't always fair to new players. I try my best to be welcoming to new players (unless I'm in a premade, because I'd rather not lie to someone and give false hope for zero reason) but it's not the easiest when there's always going to be people you know.
Lover you just aren't getting the point I fear, or are choosing to ignore it. I cannot discuss it with someone who is purposefully being obtuse. The point should be, you should not be joining a game with a huge premade because if a new player came in, you're giving them a double digit placement regardless.
DakotaMagic and I have acknowledged that that isn't fair to new people. but unfortunately, people aren't just going to not join with their friends because you want them to. and once again, that isn't a community problem because I know you will jump to that. it's how we are as people.. we make friends here, we want to play with them. so what? Is that your suggestion then to fix games? no more joining with friends? it doesn't make sense lol
Lover i think ideally! Yes! It should be proper etiquette to not join a game with more than 2 friends. if your premade is bigger than 3 you are essentially rigging the results! I don't think it should be a set rule, but I do think it should be a common courtesy, like putting the toilet seat down after you go. Or saying bless you when someone sneezes. Like do you rlly need me to continue.
DakotaMagic Maybe for longer games you can say that, but these fast games thrive off of people joining with friends.. that's how they fill. A few weeks ago, arenas did not fill AT ALL after 2am unless groups joined. which is what you're upset about. It's just how games are unless they're the popular game (which race was at that time, now arena is) I was hoping people would make real suggestions, this is silly and not able to be enforced without making games take ages to fill - I understand the frustration, and it's not fair to people who aren't in a premade, but that is always a risk when you join any game, on many different platforms/websites
