Thoughts on the events/event team

This blog will probably hit -200, but I have to speak my truth. Don’t take it personally, I don’t even know any of you, and I don’t think I’ve ever played with you guys. First, I feel like the events are way too basic to have five people working on them. With all due respect, we were doing these exact same events when we were 14 on Tengaged. Word on the street is that people are starting to get annoyed because you put yourselves in a position of “helping the community” with events, but the event is literally just boosting your own games. And on top of that, you’re always the first ones to comment and join every event. And it’s totally fine that you want to participate, it’s not like this is a job, but at the very least, you shouldn’t know when the event is going to start. Otherwise, the events team feels more like an advantage than a contribution. Because honestly, anyone could make a blog saying “EVENT RIGHT NOW, I JUST JOINED A GAME.” It just doesn’t feel like something that requires enough work to justify having that kind of built-in advantage on a site where everything revolves around competition. I mean, no shade, but the events just aren’t creative. And I feel like the Brazilian community, even if it’s not that big, is still a pretty solid percentage of the player base, same with the Spanish community. And it feels like the timing of the bigger events isn’t really planned around when those communities are actually available. And like… it also doesn’t help that you guys act like DIVAS whenever someone gives feedback. “Oh, then wait for someone else to do it, this is how I do it." I thought about saying this in private as feedback, but I’m of the mindset that if you do something publicly, the response should also be public.
