What went wrong other than the lack of promo? I personally think it was Kiss being released, this single was not good at all and jarring imo and shouldn't have been put out. I think people wanted more vocals from her, and less of what we got. I did like the first two singles, and Let You Go, so I'm not like hate-training but I want to know what everyone else thinks.

cecilia581 i agree honestly, but i also don’t think kiss was necessarily a bad single choice cause it’s one of the more fun and upbeat songs (though every song is pretty upbeat), and that’s what usually does well single wise BUT ya it definitely isn’t the best reflection of her growth and the album as a whole but i agree, i think ppl don’t gravitate towards her as much anymore unfortunately. she’s been through a lot in the public eye, kinda like miley like i feel like miley will also never get back to where she was even though her music is so good now
I did consider the whole aliens thing like from the Kelly Clarkson interviews and her singing to ghosts, and her other public struggles, and even possibly some of the haircuts as possible reasons why other people might have gravitated away from her over the past years Lover I've always loved her when she gets raw and vulnerable, and to hear her vocal power, so I think the third single should have been a song that showcased this.

wait stop i loveddd kiss omg.. i feel like this album was such a healing album for her so im sad it didn’t do well :( but i also just think it could be because her reputation has fully tanked.. i hope she can get back to how loved she was in the cool for the summer / confident era but idk
