Cherry - I get that the designer gave it to you, but that doesn’t change how it looks or what it represents. Using styles that are specific to Black culture on non-Black avatars isn’t just about where the item came from, it’s about the context. It’s not personal, but it’s worth thinking about why it causes offense instead of brushing it off.
A black man designed the hair and gifted it to me. I wouldn't have purchased it on my own, but if a designer sends me one of his beautiful designs, I'll wear it. I'm sorry if it offends anyone. I can switch to another hair for my avatar today.
