the music, the costumes, the media, eDM was literally the MAIN sound on the radio. There was never such a violent shift in music ever like this since the 80's. It was bright, neon, extravagant, futuristic. LOUD. Party culture was peaking. Recession pop was exploding. The kids were listening to DUBST3P. Music videos were on top. Arists were wearing meat dresses while accepting awards. Glitter was everywhere. We were shifting from the analog world to the social media smart phone world at the exact same time. The global trends consisted of loud electro pop songs where you would dress in ridiculous costumes (harlem shake) or do the gangnam style. Our style was to wear pounds of bright crazy makeup, neon shorts and shirts and several layers. everyone was drunk or doing coke. Reality TV was peaking. Murray, judge judy, survivor big brother BGC etc. It was non stop insanity. 2006-2016ish was gen z/millennials 80's. And nailed it tbh
