what’d we think of Carrie

BUnderscore 6 days ago19 views

probably below Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass. slightly ahead of Fall of the House of Usher, and for sure ahead of both Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Club. Samantha Sloyan is the greatest actress of all time. Don’t know how I feel about season two and the X-Women route.

Okay I finished! I really liked it. I am curious what the plans for season 2 are. I thought it was interesting that Chris actually did apologize as she was literally dying. Also I'm happy Tina lived. I WANT TO KNOW HOW SUE GOT OUT OF THE GYM THOUGH. Like she was still in there after the others escaped. I haven't watched any of Mike Flannigan's other shows, which would you recommend if I wanted to watch another?

Cherry Chris always seemed to be on the verge of explaining/apologizing but always backed out of it because she figured she’d get away with it. Until there was no getting out of it, she finally apologized like Carrie would spare her 🙄 Yeah idk why they didn’t kill Sue like they did Margaret since Sue kinda knew about them. Great series though, my only complaint is they took the autonomy away from Carrie for the Prom breaking point massacre.. kinda made sense though since this version of Carrie was so sweet and innocent. I’d say go in order for the Flanagan projects, which is good since Haunting of Hill House is the best. Never had a series hit me emotionally as much as that one 🙂‍↕️

BUnderscore I like Sue and I am glad she survived, I just don't understand HOW she got out. I think for whatever reason, instead of killing Sue, it seemed like the documentary lady hypnotized her into doubting herself instead. Would be interesting if that actually comes back in season 2, if Sue is a character and starts to remember some things. Agree with your take, it was different because like you said, the prom thing is her breaking point in the other versions, but this character was so naturally sweet it kind of works that it wasn't all her. I also think it worked because like, while people did laugh when she got splattered with the blood because people can be generally assholes, I also think because this version was so different, Carrie was an outcast but also kind of genuinely liked because she was the hero of the Chris takedown, I think people actually were happy for her when she was crowned Prom Queen, like it wasn't an obvious joke like in any other version.
