Sharing this so others may be inspired or not feel alone. In December I had a wake up call related to my weight and decided to do something about it. I’ve always been the big kid and so never really minded or gave thought to the fact that it may hinder me at some point. What happened to me wasn’t traumatic but it was me realizing I couldn’t fit in the seat of an amusement park ride. I never saw myself as being that big but clearly the world and reality did. Starting in February I began working out 3 times a week, eating less fatty and processed foods, and admittedly taking an appetite suppressant. I’m fortunate that I’ve had access to medical care to help me on my journey. It’s been a sometimes difficult, but incredibly rewarding year with many happy milestones hit (such as being at Disney Paris recently and easily fitting in every ride) and today I hit a big one, 50 pounds down. I’m nowhere near done yet and I know it will be more and more work as I go but I’m incredibly proud of where I am today. Hopefully at least one other person can see this and see themselves in my journey or be inspired to start their own.
