So as a child and through
College I was a singer. Chorus, recitals, private lessons, acapella group, musicals, all of it. And one thing that you learn through that is how to breathe properly. I know how to engage my diaphragm in basically every possible way, it was genuinely one of my strongest muscles. What surprises me so much about people who didn’t go through that experience is how LOUD THEY BREATHE. Like my breathing is basically silent, I believe because of how well trained my breathing and lungs are from those years of singing. There’s people I work with, very fit not like some obese person, who breathe so loud like I can hear it from a few feet away. It’s definitely not everyone but as I look for it I notice it’s a lot of people don’t know how to quiet or deeper their breaths. Very in-depth insight from me today on this Labor Day.

This is very interesting. I sing (nowhere near your lvl of experience), and I can engage my diaphragm but only if I'm paying attention to it. Otherwise I default to incorrect breathing 😂
Sin I wouldn’t even call it incorrect, it’s more like an adaptation in my eyes. Like I could absolutely not do a “runner’s breath” but I can do this. I think whatever you basically grow up doing is how you do it
