Explain Like I'm 5
Can someone explain The Challenge... intuitively like I know what it is and I've watched clips and stuff. But I'm confused on a few things like why are there like 50 seasons if The Challenge USA is relatively new (right?) and why are there so many returnees? Like are people just coming back over and over again, do they only recruit reality stars or regular people too? who even applies for it? and why does it feel like there's always a season on???
Genuinely curious I'm just trying to learn LOL.

The show will be cancelled in the next year tbh like don’t feel the need to get into it 😭
They've had seasons of regular people who never been on reality tv but they tend go go for reality stars at first from real world or road rules and then eventually Are you the one which was a MTV dating show after road rules and real world died and ended and then finally getting folks from all reality shows like theres been folks from America's got talent who went on the show and it really depends on the format cause sometimes its like last place goes in elimination and theres been some seasons where u have to win a arena/Elimination to even qualify to do the final
Typical challenge episode format is -Daily challenge: winner gets immunity and/or power -Some social-strategic mechanism to decide who is up for elimination -The players up for elimination compete in an arena head to head, winner stays loser goes home
Mainly reality stars and yes people have played like 8-10 seasons in a row before
