Okay so Y2K was a computer bug that programmers were afraid of, because they had no clue what would happen when the year 2000 came because the computers were not programmed to show 2000. People genuinely thought all the technology was going to fucking explode. Y2K fashion takes that technology theme and elevates it. Its like hopecore but for your clothing. Metallic, Neon colors, DENIM. Layering in a weird way. beads in your fucking hair of every color. Like it doesn't mean that episode of Degrassi where Manny went to school with a whale tail.
