In light of recent events,
In case people are not yet aware, this last weekend was pride in Berlin, and a car plowed through people peacefully celebrating around 10pm in an area where there was little room to hide, and no way to predict the driver's next move. This incident left one woman dead, and many people injured. This hit pretty close to home as someone that was at this very spot just mere hours before the incident, and a lot of the weekend was spent checking in with friends and acquaintances, to ensure everyone was okay.
Instead of condemning the act and show compassion to the victims and their loved ones, there was an immediate resort to spreading harmful propaganda by more people than there should be, fueling a recent trend where every single tragedy is immediately overshadowed by hate during a time where people should work on further promoting peace.
I think every single person on the internet has the ability to at least try and recalibrate people's way of thinking, and stop pitting specific groups of people together as bad because of a single offender. Yes, there may be multiple offenders of similar descend or religion, but it STILL does not make every single person of similar descent responsible. It won't always work but the current state of the internet just promotes a lot more tension within normal folk, and encourages further violence among us.
It's also time to hold our governments more accountable. More and more I read the news and see that a killer was previously convicted before, and let go. This is a more and more frequent occurence, and it's absolutely unacceptable. Meanwhile people get arrested and punished simply for protesting the bombings of Palestine and Lebanon on the streets, even if they are just standing there with a flag or a poster. It's very clear that certain narratives are being forced upon us instead of working towards a common goal of peace.
Please use your voice for the right things, point out injustices, and speak up when people are wronged. You could make a difference!

I love you Alex <3
This type of attack shows exactly why pride still needs to exist. Religious extremism and other right wing political ideologies (not necessarily just afd/GOP/etc) but violent authoritarian ideology in general, whether thats religious extremism or other variations.
true but werenโt they upset the perpetrator wasnโt a member of another community based on race and religion?
BUnderscore "They" likely represents one woman from a street interview that has been circling around, and I am sure her opinion is shared elsewhere but that is also equally harmful.
I hope millie bobbie brown is brought to justice
Kiss Oh the perpetrator is gone girl.
