DNTM All Stars Episode 3 Critiques

Mochalatte 1 hour ago21 views

Hello dollies, today we are heading to the construction site to serve crane couture and blueprint the haus down boots! I was curious to see how these femmes and fairies would butch it up, but I'm not gonna lie, I was really uninspired this week. I just don't really think this theme is my thing. But I still tried to do my best to look past it and focus on the raw elements of modeling. Let's get into it. #dntm5 dimitra gabs - Did you know you had a possibility to win? Did you know all of America is rooting for you? And then you come in here and treat this like a joke? You come in here and look at that and say 'I can't read that' you read 10× better than half of those girls over there, and you come in here with a defeatist attitude! Be quiet Gabriella. Be quiet! What is wrong with you? STOPPPP ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I have never in my life yelled at a girl like this. When my mother yells like this it's because she loves me. I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you! How dare you! Learn something from this! *composes self* we can now resume. AngieKStan Critique: This is a huge step up from last week overall. I think the Miley Cyrus influence was really clever, and I love the way you chose to style her. The black/yellow was a phenomenal choice to represent a construction zone and I think you making the focus more on the debris/wrecking ball hitting the building as opposed to the crane itself really gives the outfit a chance to shine. I can't help but think the way she's positioned on the wrecking ball is a little awkward, like she has super strength and is carrying her body weight solely by the left hand on the chain. I think you probably didn't want the interpretation to be too literal, and I still enjoy the shape that she's making with her body. She's very stretched and is working every inch of the frame. It's a gorgeous picture, with some minor placement issues. 8.7/10 kaliminaj Critique: FINALLY I feel like you delivered a really stunning photograph! This is so lethal from head to toe. The hair is flowing gorgeously in the wind, I love the use of triangles. The arms above her head are forming a triangle, and the right leg bent at an acute angle is forming another one. It creates this really eye-catching symmetry and it makes her body look so curvalicious. What makes me a little nervous is, this is your second time in a row hanging upside down in a photoshoot. Isn't the blood starting to rush to your head a bit girl? Make sure not to be one note. The caution tape is soooo lady gaga though I live. The background...meh....but overall this is really really strong and I think youre moving in a positive direction 8.5/10 medusaluh Critique: It's honestly just hard to understand what's going on in this image im not gonna lie. To me she looks like this really wealthy mid-30s woman who's getting out of her limousine in the depths of winter. Like where exactly is she...? Is this like a helicopter or is she inside one of the machineries driving it? It's a really stunning photograph in and of itself, but I'm just not really connecting with the theme much here. The coat itself is jaw-dropping and I love the positioning of the legs. There's a really cramped, claustrophobic kinda vibe here and I love how she's using the limited space to contort in all the right ways. The image itself is stunning, again I just don't see construction. 7/10 manyomash Critique: It's a fabulous photo. I mean do you ever really miss? You are the only one who to me perfectly encapsulated the masculine and feminine contradiction here. She's in this really elegant dress and obviously has never lifted a finger in her life, I mean she's an absolute princess. It's like her and her friends snuck into a construction site after dark and she decided to climb onto one of the wheels of the truck for dramatic effect. And holy drama! The way the dress just flows so perfectly down half of the wheel, the way her legs are kicked up into the little hole above it, and the arms pushed out in front of her with those sheer sleeves. It's so fierce! 9.5/10 maris Critique: I'm not personally the biggest fan of the styling here, but I will say this is undeniably a strong shot. I just find myself getting so bored with your model. Every week it's just really polished, but I'm struggling to see PERSONALITY and PRESENCE. I really want her to do something to stand out and take a risk. I mean, it still has to be pretty, but again you just can't rely on pretty every single time. When do we see something edgy, something artistic, something that pushes the envelope? This image to me is obviously a safe image, like there's no way I see you going home with such a flawless pose, a really stunning gown, and props that are being used effectively. Don't get me wrong, I do like it. I just want you to WOW me. 8.5/10 seong Critique: I appreciate the risk and outside-the-box thinking as always, but I do not think this image is the most flattering. If we think about his positioning on the glass, I wish his whole body and face would have been pushed against the glass instead of his body being oddly laid flat with his head randomly propped up. It's like...is he resting on the glass or is he on top of it looking down at it. I think it a sense the illusion of it is kinda cool and you definitely get brownie points for cleverness. There are otherwise elements I enjoy about this anyways. The hand placement is very intense and there's an essence of fear in his expression/grip, but it still comes off as really confident and sexy as well. It's not my favorite tonight, but it's not bad either. 8/10 honey Critique: I love how you decided to incorporate the element of rain here, the wet feel adds a layer of seduction. I don't really have much to say about this not gonna lie. The legs and arms are positioned just right, except I do with the left arm was pushed forward a little bit more. We are kinda losing it in the dark. It's not as high fashion as some of your competitors, but it's still a really fierce photo! 8.2/10 goomybear Critique: I have mixed feelings on this photo. I love the shape he’s making with his body and the wrapping of the fabric around the excavator. He’s really making use of the environment and incorporating the garment nicely. He reminds me of the captain of a ship looking out onto the ocean. On the flip side, there are some aesthetic issues. The face looks really boney and it’s kinda giving skeletor. The hue is also really strange here I'm realizing, especially in contrast with some of your competitors. It's borderline jaundice LOL.....definitely try to be brighter next time. 7.9/10 lewis Critique: It's a big fat chop babes. He looks a mess LOL. I would try to step away from this overly-human approach in the future. It's looking really low budget and like it was filmed on an iPhone with flash, as opposed to a professional camera. Besides that, I do like how you lit the machinery on fire and I think the legs are looking extraordinary. It's giving major human torch energy and his hair is really on brand given the direction you chose to take this shoot. Overall, it's one of the weakest still. 6.5/10 guiltyassin Critique: It's a rather lifeless photograph, but it still kinda works here. I think it's very billie eilish and generally just kinda depressing. Love the way she's leaning with the harness, the little baby hairs in the front and the facial expression is really kinda giving "fuck this job, but at least I look hot af doing it" The mesh of material with the leather of the shoes/top and whatever the heck those pants/the jacket are made of is a little questionable fashionably, but I like that this girl has an aesthetic and is committed to the bit. It's not your best, but it's still decently strong! 8.3/10 marquis Critique: old school The Challenge challenges be like. LOL. This photo gives me anxiety because it's almost like he's climbing to the edge to jump off and how the hell is he ever gonna get down from there regardless? I'm obsessed with the styling here, this bright orange is not only unique for your model, but just screams construction. I'm shocked no one else incorporated the highlighter hues. The fabrics dangling in the wind, the belts hugging his waist, the doggy position as he's crawling to the edge of the plank. This to me screams fashion and it makes you feel something. This man is worn tf out, yet still looks so gorgeous and hydrated. We could have done without the rings TBH... but ya know....that's very minor in the grand scheme. 9/10 fancy Critique: It's a strange photo and I think to start off, I'm not sure where his eyes are going. They aren't really directed towards the camera or at the tool he's using, they're just staring off into space. It looks a little demonic (which kinda fits the whole vibe of the shot), but also a little cross-eyed and I don't think it's doing him any favors. The outfit is so dark and the background is so dark it's kinda hard to make out some of the details. The more I look at it the more I appreciate how evil it is and how it looks like he's either on drugs of possessed. Not the most visually enticing shot, but there is a sinister vibe that's enjoyable. 7.5/10 cupidstunt Critique: It's a stunning photo, I love the garment itself most of all. This is a fashion statement. It's giving white collar boss comes out to the site to order the big buff men around and to flex her wealth at the blue collar workers. The pantsuit with the tulle reminds me of yin and yang and I will always be a sucker for a black and white combo. Love how you decided to point the toe and there is a lot of power in her body and in her facial expression. No notes miss cupid! 9/10 Callout Order: 1. Manyomash 2. Marquis 3. CupidStunt 4.
