SIGNS - My Opinion

Signs (2002). The film depicts an alien invasion of the planet; however, scenes featuring the aliens themselves are scarce. Towards the end, I realized that the alien invasion scenario was chosen merely to convey the film's central message. The movie has a philosophical tone, suggesting that "SIGNS" appear before events actually unfold in our lives—implying that our destinies are already set and that we get a brief preview of the future through things like conversations, illnesses, financial struggles, or even arguments. A few things bothered me, such as the cliché choice of having aliens burn tons of corn just to create a pattern (in the film's case, to create location maps). I also found the aliens' decision to target a world that is 71% water to be foolish. I didn't quite understand how the main character could be a priest while having been married with two children.
