I have an idea for a new game mode that's similar to the FIFA World Cup format. There would be 16 players, split into 4 groups of 4. The group stage would have 3 rounds (3 different challenges). After each round: - 1st place gets 3 points - 2nd place gets 2 points - 3rd place gets 1 point - 4th place gets 0 points At the end of the three rounds, the top 2 players from each group move on to the knockout stage. The knockout stage starts with 8 players in the quarterfinals. Each match is a 1st-place player vs. a 2nd-place player from another group. The winner advances to the semifinals, then the winners of those matches move on to the Grand Final, where the last two players battle it out for the championship. Example 16 players: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P Group 1 - A - B - C - D Round 1 - Lucky Drop - A - 3000 → 3 points - B - 2500 → 2 points - C - 2000 → 1 point - D - 500 → 0 points Round 2 - Deal - B - 500k → 3 points - A - 200k → 2 points - D - 100k → 1 point - C - 90k → 0 points Round 3 - Maze - A - 4000 → 3 points - D - 3500 → 2 points - B - 3000 → 1 point - C - 2000 → 0 points Final Group 1 Standings 1. You still have a chance to qualify by consistently placing well, and once the knockout stage starts, every match becomes do-or-die. It would add a lot more strategy and excitement to the game.

Everyone's been blogging about different game stuff tonight, so I figured I'd finally make one I've been meaning to write for a while.
