DNTM All Stars Episode 1 Critiques
This season is all about showing what the big dogs are made of, and they certainly did not disappoint. It is a botanical wonderland, with tons of variety, fashion statements, and elevated talent. Let's get into it. #dntm5 dimitra
I have set a timer for one hour on my phone bc I cba to be spending all night on this. (I went way over and will have to shorten these next time)

Critique: The season 1 girls had it most difficult because we had no mold or expectation in terms of quality. For an OG to pull out a concept this strong proves that we can keep up and show out. This picture is so stunning. Love how you played with lighting here, and the sun shining down with her hand blowing in the wind makes her look otherworldly. Like Mother Nature herself. The dress is a showstopper, and I love how at the bottom it perfectly blends in with the leaves almost as if she is a plant herself coming to life. The leg tilted to the side adds a much needed silhouette and I love the flower props as well. My one problem would be that I wish her eyes had a little bit more life in them. Otherwise, I can't find a flaw in sight. 9.5/10

Critique: Another girl I'm really impressed by, especially because I'd usually expect you to take a comedic approach. She looks sexy as fuck and the color scheme is so flattering. The legs are the star of the show, they go on for days...weeks...months....which is tricky to pull off in this kind of slouched position. You managed to keep her looking really long and powerful despite her just kinda chillin on a mushroom. Another really critical note is you managed to get the face looking right. There's intensity in the eyes, which a lot of these girls struggle to pull off when coding into chatGPT. My only problem is I wish the left hand was serving more of a purpose instead of just floating there. If it was reaching for a flower or acting as a magical goddess who is bringing the plants to life, I think it'd be more purposeful. 9.1/10

Critique: It's proportionately really interesting, I love the crooked angle shooting her from below. This to me is taking the shot to the next level. You incorporated glamour and polish, but it's that little quirk that just makes it so much more memorable. I love how there's this contrast of innocence/safety on her pretty little pink flower, yet she's surrounded by all these Venus fly traps that are ready to turn her into bacon. It's unintentionally a play off of good and evil I think. As far as the actual modeling itself, the pose just screams fashion to me. I could see this in a magazine in a heartbeat. She looks confident and in-control of her surroundings, the face is right and striking at that, the bend of the leg adds that extra flare the posing needs. It's one of my favorite shots. 9.7/10

Critique: Comparably to the first three photos, this has a dullness that I'm not very fond of. When I think of flowers and plants, I really do think of vibrancy and color, yet this somehow looks really lifeless altogether. The flower on the right almost looks like it's dying....and she herself doesn't look the most alive either. There's something in the eyes and the mouths that makes her look like a barbie doll rather than a human being. It's just not reading as present to me. I'm being so harsh let me reel it back in a little bit. The pose is really great, I do love the leg of course and the hand placement is very interactive. It's just....the face feels so disconnected from how she's interacting. It's just a really awkward photo overall, slightly saved by the body positioning and the hair flowing majestically. We gotta step it up! 7.3/10

Critique: It really is giving me the fate of ophelia a bit. The pink hair is driving me crazy here...it does not fit the aesthetic of the photo and looks really tacky. Otherwise, this is a good shot. Not anything mind-blowing, but it's safe. There are definitely some chatgpt issues here....the hand reaching up to me should be intertwined with the birds/string and maybe even wrapped around your arm would have elevated the picture a little more. The propped up nature of the head is scaring me, I feel like she's really relaxed in the bottom half of her body and then there's all this tension above the neck. It's not my favorite tonight Kali. 7.7/10
medusaluh
Critique: This is weird and although I appreciate you obviously stand out in the crowd, I don't think it's properly executed. The best part of this photo is the styling. The flowers growing out of her coat and her hair is really chic, I love how it feels like she's one with the flower. I think it's strange that all these flowers are growing on her, yet there's NONE to be seen around her at all. I think incorporating the flowers in the backdrop would've brought everything together. The Venus fly traps look really low quality and I do think this adds a dreamy quality that's fascinating. The bad part of this is 1. why are her eyes closed and 2. she's just kinda standing there....so if you're gonna do that, there needs to be some sort of story or some visual cues that are making it relevant and worthwhile. I'm not understanding the vision here. Is it a dream...? Cuz all I'm seeing is nightmare. 6/10

Critique: Obsessed. This photo is so bouncy and elegant and untraditional and I think it really paid off. White is symbolically a really positive color. I mean we think weddings, angels, lightness. But we also think innocence, and I think the contrasting melancholy of this image captures the nervousness/insecurity that this color simultaneously represents. The dress blends in with the flowers beautifully, and I love how the bunching of it in the back mimics the folds to a t. This is flawless to me. 10/10
maris
Critique: I love it! Queen of the garden perched right upon her lotus. There's really not much I can critique here. The pose is really seductive, the dress is impeccable, her face is enticing. it's very polished but on the flip side perhaps a little safe. It's got all the makings of a top model, but I want to challenge you to ELEVATE because you can't rely on pretty forever. What can you do to make yourself stand out in a crowd, while maintaining the elegance she naturally conveys? 9/10

Critique: You are known for pushing the envelope and for thinking creatively, but I have to say I'm missing the theme a little bit here. Upon first glance, there's asian influence which I appreciate. But the cultural elements I think are overshadowing the botanical focus. I do still think there are elements of this shot that are appealing. The flowy-ness of the garment is really majestic and I love how the swan is picking at the bottom of it. The fan was a cute idea, but I think it's a bit out place here especially because it's not decorated with the flowers whatsoever. I appreciate the risk, but in the future, I wouldn't incorporate anything that draws attention away from the task at hand. 7.7/10

Critique: It's so funny this was making me laugh so much earlier. The foot is CRAZYYYYYY like I just can't take it seriously LOOOOL. Jack and the beanstalk ass bitch. It looks like her foot is just exponentially growing out of control and is weighing her down. Ok Ok enough about her feet, we'll see more on onlyfans surely. OTHERWISE, although it's so distracting, I appreciate certain elements of the shot. I like that you took a more badass approach, rather than copping out for a "look how pretty and feminine I am" vibe that everyone else did. Her facial expression exudes strength and power and I love how she's using the .....beanstalks......to pose. It's not the best, but don't get deFEETed cuz it's not the worst either. 7/10
honey
Critique: It's ok. I really really really love the shape that is being made with the heels, it makes the legs look really long and gives it a cutting edge. I almost wish she was barefoot and creating that shape naturally. The more I look at it, the more I actually enjoy it. it's just a little simple, but sometimes that can be most effective. Love the leaning and love the hand above her head. The light is shining on her just enough to add that pop of brightness the shot needs. It's pretty good actually. 8/10
goomybear
Critique: This is stunning overall. His hair is styled just right, the placement of the flowers is so ethereal. Love how he's interacting with the backdrop. The pose is so flowy and it feels like it's mimicking the fluidity of the flower folds. On the flip side, I do think the left hand is awkwardly placed and the limp nature makes me feel like it should be grabbing something, The hue of the outfit is a little too bright for me, I wish it was toned down to match the subtle purple vibe of the flower itself. The eyes are looking a little drowsy, but otherwise the face is really sexy. 8.2/10

Critique: Something about this shot is throwing me off. It feels like she was cut and pasted into a frame she does not belong in. The fashion aspects are not aligning with the environment she's in. I wish it was more balanced in terms of color scheme. This is where I think having the eyes closed works a lot because obviously she's being blocked by the sun. I do really like the dress itself and I think if you were able to incorporate it more into the environment, I'd be viewing this in a whole different light. Overall, I love that there is a humanness to this. She's in the garden. She's bathing in the sun. It just looks very natural again. This is not the worst, but it's not the best either. 7.9/10

Critique: there are elements of the shot. I really love I think the pose and the angles that are being created with the wooden picture frame is really high fashion. The picture frame itself is a little odd, but I appreciate that you incorporated it in a way that makes her look very powerful and striking. The legs are glistening, and the dress itself contrast the blue flowers so nicely overall mama, this is a serve. 8.5/10
Marquis
Critique: I'm going to try not to be biased here because I am so ridiculously attracted to your model, it's overwhelming. The quality of your images is always unmatched. He just always glows and has this realistic quality that a lot of the other models struggle to convey. That being said I do feel like this photo lacks detail and a clear vision. I'm not sure the garment itself has any relevance to the flower, and while the colors pair nicely together, I wish that you had incorporated the flower in the fashion. The face is really striking as always and I love that it's almost like he's climbing a staircase of blue flowers. Again, not the worst but ELEVATE! 7.9/10

Critique: LOL THIS IS SO CUNT I LOVE IT. He looks like a bad bitch using the path of flowers as his runway to strut down. I love that you made his eyes purple/pink, I think that almost gives the effect of poison, or control, or as if the flowers are awakening something within him. I love that there's an unapologetic feminine quality here, and that he's almost flaunting it to show people how little of a fuck he gives. Speaking of little though...we need to make sure we are keeping him looking as tall and as long as possible here. He's appearing to be 5'0 here...it's bordering into little person territory. It may just be the angle itself, but this is border lining into comedic territory. Still, I think you had fun with this and it shows LOL. 8.5/10
cupidstunt
Critique: Ahhh Miss Cupid....darling this is lethal. It is so Megan Fox coded. I think black pairs so wonderfully dark red (maroon?) and it's taking this to vampire territory which is a really fascinating direction to take this in. Also, can we talk about how she's grabbing the thorny bamboo with not a care in the world? It's almost like she hopes she gets cut so she can lick the blood off her fingers. I love the darkness, I love the supernatural deduction you can draw from it. The leg tilt I'm realizing was a lot of the girls got to and I'mma be a lot stricter on that in the future, but regardless it looks so intense and spooky. She's the villain of the season! 9.5/10

Love to have the support of my Season 1 sister
my outfit is the exoskeleton of the hydrangea leaf! i was thinking along the lines of Iris van Herpen's Earthrise collection. i did silk and flowers a few times in DNTM4 and wanted to serve up something fresh! i went the flower as structure route for the outfit rather than just wearing flowers on my outfit. thank you for the feedback though! i appreciate it.
Mocha 🔥 love to see your critiques
my photo is what you would see on an actual haute couture/high fashion magazine, but i understand that those arent accessible to everyone :/
are you only accustomed to ai photoshoots lmfao
Medusaluh are you saying you hand drew your photo? If so, it’s AMAZINGGGGGG and so impressive. Artistically spectacular, thematically/modelesquely underwhelming
Mochalatte Szilveszter Makó you have like zero references pls don’t give me advice LMFAO
Medusaluh I don’t care if it’s referencing Nigel barker himself, this is a modeling competition and she’s standing there with her eyes closed and the accessories don’t match the environment whatsoever. Get mad and take it personally all you want, if you’re gonna get conceptual, it has to tell a story or at least just commit to the cookie crazy randomness that szilvester mako seems to portray
Mochalatte ur so funny XD
Mochalatte pls talk to me when ur portfolio can back up the shit ur talking about luv
This order is chaotic
Thank you for the compliments, i’m glad you liked it 🫶
