By the beginning of the third day, sixteen participants remained. For the first time, the surviving angels and demons were equal in number. Sprite gathered the angels and proposed eliminating the most dangerous destructive threats before the arena became smaller. Her greatest concern was SurferSorbet, whose uncontrolled attacks could destroy both factions without distinction. Katie attempted to do the same among the demons. However, Seong remained distant, Brat continued gathering corpses, and SurferSorbet had already claimed an abandoned fortress as his own territory. The fortress was surrounded by destroyed buildings, broken weapons, and the bodies of creatures that had lived inside the arena. Bubba volunteered to confront the Oni. The young paladin entered the fortress carrying his enormous hammer. SurferSorbet immediately attacked with his spear, using the weapon’s superior reach to keep Bubba at a distance. The spear struck the paladin’s armor several times. Bubba used his healing power to close the worst wounds and continued advancing. His strong defense allowed him to survive attacks that would have eliminated most of the other fighters. SurferSorbet used his third arm to swing his sword while continuing to attack with the spear. Bubba blocked the sword with the handle of his hammer, but the spear pierced through his shoulder. Instead of retreating, the paladin grabbed the spear and prevented the Oni from pulling it back. Bubba healed part of the wound while using his other arm to raise the hammer. The first impact struck SurferSorbet’s chest and cracked his armor. The giant roared and attempted to crush Bubba with the sword. Bubba moved to the side and brought the hammer down against the floor of the fortress. The stone beneath them shattered. SurferSorbet lost his balance, but still managed to strike Bubba across the back. The paladin fell to one knee, severely injured. The Oni raised all three weapons for another attack. Bubba struck the ground again. The fortress collapsed around them. Walls, pillars, and sections of the ceiling fell onto the battlefield. Bubba protected himself beneath his hammer and survived under the debris. SurferSorbet was buried beneath the territory he had destroyed and claimed. Bubba emerged from the ruins barely able to stand, but the Oni did not rise again. Near a lake of lava, Nexa and her fire companion discovered Thiii. Nexa used her pom-poms to launch sacred fireballs, forcing the rock demon to move away from the edge of the lake. The flames burned two of Thiii’s arms and damaged part of her cursed guitar. Thiii responded by playing a distorted sequence of notes. The sound travelled across the entire area, altering the movements of Nexa’s fire companion. The creature became confused and began absorbing the sacred flames intended for Thiii. Nexa attempted to regain control by increasing the intensity of her attacks, but the music continued interfering with the bond between them. Thiii used all four arms to play a stronger rhythm. The sound placed Nexa in a partial trance. Her balance became unstable, and her attacks lost accuracy. The angel forced herself to move closer, hoping to interrupt the music directly. Thiii concentrated the sound into a single explosive wave. The impact threw Nexa against the volcanic rocks. Her sacred fire faded, and her companion disappeared shortly after her elimination. In the remains of a celestial garden, Manyomash attacked Jessiejedi. He immediately filled the area with smoke and sent his chained daggers through the darkness. Jessiejedi received several cuts before she understood the direction of the attacks. She used the pink dagger to strike the chain whenever it passed near her, healing part of the damage with each successful hit. Manyomash increased the amount of smoke. The garden disappeared beneath the black mist. Jessiejedi released hundreds of flower petals into the air. The petals moved with every disturbance in the smoke. Whenever Manyomash changed position, his body altered their direction and revealed the path of his movement. Jessiejedi began predicting the attacks. She blocked one dagger with the blue blade and struck the chain with the pink one, recovering more energy. Manyomash attempted to move above her, using the chains to swing between the broken columns. The petals followed him. Jessiejedi threw both daggers at once. The blue dagger struck one chain while the pink blade wrapped around the other. Manyomash’s weapons became trapped together. Before he could create another curtain of smoke, the petals surrounded his real position and cut off every route of escape. Jessiejedi ended the battle with a final attack from the blue dagger. At the boundary between the celestial ruins and the Abyss, Nettles encountered JuleWopp. The two-bodied demon moved across the ground on a black serpent tail. The male and female bodies maintained a perfect balance between destruction and protection. Nettles created multiple wind barriers to prevent them from approaching. JuleWopp responded with blasts of chaos magic. The first explosions struck the barriers but failed to break them. Nettles redirected the energy with powerful currents and created a storm around the demon. The female half of JuleWopp generated a protective field, while the male half concentrated destructive power against a single point in the angel’s defense. Nettles continued forming new barriers, but each attack weakened the same location. The storm grew stronger. JuleWopp’s serpent body was lifted from the ground, but the protective half kept them stable. The male half released another blast. The barrier shattered. Nettles immediately transformed the surrounding wind into a massive tornado, attempting to throw JuleWopp into the Abyss. The demon combined both powers. Protection surrounded the serpent body while chaos energy entered the current of wind itself. The destructive magic spread through the storm and reached Nettles from every direction. Unable to block an attack carried by her own wind, the angel was overwhelmed. Eliminations of the third day: SurferSorbet, eliminated by Bubba. Nexa, eliminated by Thiii.
