During the night, the arena began to change. The celestial bridges descended toward the infernal forest, while enormous roots emerged from the ground and destroyed several structures. The safe territories became smaller, forcing angels and demons closer together. Kimmie used her nature magic to create a protected region for the angels. She surrounded their camp with tall trees, thick vines, and roots capable of moving beneath the earth. Whenever a tree was destroyed, she could immediately make another grow in its place. MrsChloeKayCecci discovered the angel camp from the top of a nearby mountain. From that position, she could potentially attack several enemies at once. However, her power required her to see the entirety of her target. Nettles immediately understood the danger. She filled the area with powerful currents of wind, leaves, dust, and broken branches. The moving debris continuously blocked MrsChloeKayCecci’s view of the angels. Kimmie launched the first attack by uprooting a large tree and throwing it toward the mountain. MrsChloeKayCecci raised her axe and cut the tree in half from a distance. A second tree followed, then a third. Each one was divided before it could reach her. The demon slowly advanced through the storm, cutting through roots and branches. She attempted to locate Nettles, but the angel constantly shifted behind barriers of wind. Nettles created several transparent walls around MrsChloeKayCecci. The demon destroyed the first barrier with her axe, but another immediately appeared behind it. Each barrier altered the direction of the wind and compressed the air around her. MrsChloeKayCecci continued cutting, but her movements became slower. Nettles formed another barrier above the demon and increased the pressure. A violent gust tore the axe from MrsChloeKayCecci’s hands and sent it into the air. The weapon struck a weakened rock formation above the mountain. Nettles redirected the wind and caused the rocks to collapse. MrsChloeKayCecci attempted to cut the falling stones, but there were too many of them. She disappeared beneath the avalanche, unable to obtain a complete view of the angel responsible for her defeat. Elsewhere, Containment was still suffering from the poison Maris had placed inside his body. Melanie had managed to reduce the effects, but she had not been able to remove them completely. Containment chose to leave the camp so the poison would not endanger the more vulnerable angels. Katie found him while he was resting near the ruins. The demon leader immediately recognized his weakness and attacked with both axes. Containment and his serpent fought together. The monk used his staff to deflect the first axe, while the serpent attempted to bite Katie’s leg. Containment landed several strikes, and the poison from his staff began entering Katie’s bloodstream. Katie’s movements became heavier, but she refused to retreat. She trapped the serpent beneath one of her axes. Containment rushed forward to protect his companion, abandoning his defensive stance. Katie used the opening to strike him with the second axe. The monk still managed to hit her arm, but the poison already inside his body had greatly reduced his strength. Katie grabbed Containment and began extracting his life energy. The angel fought until the end, but the combination of Maris’s poison, exhaustion, and Katie’s draining power became impossible to resist. Katie left the battlefield wounded and poisoned, but stronger from the life energy she had consumed. In the transformed forest, PadamPadam discovered Gabs crossing a large clearing. The two angelic sisters moved in perfect coordination with their sacred bird. The archer remained slightly behind, while the close-range sister protected the center. The bird flew between them, maintaining a sacred barrier. PadamPadam created several illusions of herself. Dozens of four-armed demons surrounded the trio and began throwing an endless rain of swords. The bird expanded its protective barrier. The archer fired at the illusions, eliminating false copies one by one. The close-range sister remained near the bird, deflecting the swords that passed through the sacred protection. PadamPadam used the confusion to move behind the archer. However, the sacred bird sensed the demon’s true presence. It released a flash of holy light, revealing PadamPadam’s real body. The close-range sister immediately grabbed two of the demon’s arms. PadamPadam used her remaining limbs to throw more swords, forcing the archer to defend herself. One sword passed toward the bird, but the creature redirected it with its barrier. The archer fired an arrow through one of PadamPadam’s arms. The demon attempted to create another illusion, but the close-range sister kept her body restrained. A second arrow struck PadamPadam before she could escape. The demon fell in the center of the clearing, overwhelmed by the coordination between the sisters and their sacred companion. Melanie remained inside the angel camp, responsible for healing the wounded and reinforcing their defenses. Brat observed her from the shadows. The necromancer had been drawn to the camp by the energy of those already close to death. She understood that Melanie’s healing power was preventing several possible deaths. Brat sent a group of corpses toward the camp. Melanie created a large shield around herself and released star-shaped projectiles. The first wave of undead collapsed, but Brat absorbed the energy released by their destruction. She sent more. Each corpse destroyed by Melanie provided Brat with another fragment of death to consume. The young angel reinforced her shield and continued attacking. Stars struck Brat’s undead army, scattering bones and decaying flesh across the ground. Brat became stronger with every death. Eventually, cracks began spreading across Melanie’s shield. The angel released a large burst of starlight that destroyed several corpses and wounded Brat directly. The necromancer continued advancing. When the shield finally broke, Brat entered the protected area with her sword. Melanie attempted to heal herself while creating another barrier, but the necromancer struck before it could fully form. Brat absorbed Melanie’s energy and added part of her protective power to the death she had already consumed. The fall of the angelic healer weakened the entire celestial alliance.
