but do we really expect anyone from israel to not support israel? many of the people speaking on this are living in countries where free expression, diversity of thought, critical thinking, and education are protected and/or encouraged. citizens of israel do not live in that reality. their media is so limited and controlled. to cast judgement toward each and every individual israeli for the views they're pretty much mandated. it's extremely western and ethnocentric to hold people in a state that makes a point to actively brainwash its citizens and irradicate other viewpoints to the same standards you would someone who is exposed to more information.
i don't think there's ANYTHING wrong with hating zionism and zionists collectively or individually, but the recurring pile on of hate that happens towards the one israeli user on this website really isn't productive or doing anything for palestinians. like, i hate israel and i have for a very long time. i do not think it, as a country, should exist. at the same time, i don't think an israeli who knows nothing but israeli propaganda is a bad person for believing it

i’m sorry but i will not baby a grown man who obviously supports the genocide and ethnic cleansing. there are plenty of people in israel who are aware this is ethnic cleansing regardless of how heavy the government pushes otherwise. it is possible to unlearn propaganda and my sympathy is not wasted on someone who doesn’t even care to try.
While I don’t think it’s productive I also don’t want him to think it’s a safe space for him on here. I know plenty of people from Israel who don’t support the genocide despite the fact that it’s shoved down their throats, so while it isn’t helping Palestine, knowing that piece of shit is uncomfortable is a little victory
This is what I was trying to say. But I couldn't articulate my words correctly because Melanie irks me.
I think literally the same Austin. Your words are awesome <3
i mean i do think its hard to say from that perspective but what i dont think is hard to say is "no i dont support ethnic cleansing"
Kallie and he lives in a place that will never view this as ethnic cleansing is my point.
sobriquet i dont really know how to digest that. like at which point do you see children being nuked and say "alls fair in love and war" theres no real justification
Kallie when everywhere you turn, you're being told it's happening to you, you start to believe it. it's not saying "all's fair in love and war." the people of israel are convinced by their government and media they are actively being ethnically cleansed. the people of israel believe their children are being nuked. from the information that is accessible to them, supporting israel seems like the only moral possibility. obviously, as people with an outside perspective on it, we can see clearly they are the one committing a genocide. when the only information israeli citizens have on the war is what their government wants them to believe and their family members and friends whose lives were lost, other perspective becomes impossible
everything we KNOW is happening to the palestinian people, the media and government of israel has convinced their citizens is what is happening TO them. they are quite literally forced to believe they are actively being hunted and ethnically cleansed. this entire situation comes off to me like we're holding one random israeli accountable for the fact his country successfully brainwashed and propagandizes its citizens. as morally reprehensible that position seems to those of us who are exposed to all the facts, it's the only one he's been led to see as morally conscionable
