Hidden beneath a tangle of roots, they discover two weathered Pages. Then they both start laughing. Joji: No way. Marquis: No actual way. Joji: Ten? Marquis: Ten. Joji holds up his complete set of Pages. Joji: We actually did it. Marquis leans against the tree and exhales. Marquis: I genuinely thought I was going to die in this forest. Joji: You know, when we met in that tunnel, I wasn't sure either of us would make it. Marquis: I wasn't sure anybody would make it. Joji glances toward the direction of the Static Field. Joji: But I choose to believe that at least Arahna made it out alive. Marquis: And Elara. Joji: Perhaps Lemanjá too. Marquis: And probably Containment. Joji: And Paul? Marquis shakes his head. Marquis: Somehow the vodka prophet is ahead of us. Joji: Never underestimate a woman carrying emergency alcohol. For a few moments, they simply stand beneath the dark trees listening to the rain. Joji: Think this place will still be here after we're gone? Marquis: Honestly? I don't care. Marquis looks down at the Pages in his hands. Marquis: Let's get out now. The forest simply ends. Ahead of her stretches a vast field filled with towering transmission towers and endless power lines disappearing into the distance beneath the dark morning sky. The black rain stops at the edge of the trees behind her, unable to cross into the strange landscape. Paul: Oh my god... A constant low static hum vibrates through the air. Strange distortions flicker randomly throughout the field, appearing for a split second before vanishing again like tears in reality. Some ripple across the ground while others shimmer briefly in mid-air between the towers. Yan's head lying on the mud. Paul tightens her grip on her Pages. In the distance, on a long chain-link fence, she spots an open Exit Gate.
