Week 6

This week I found the photo shoot difficult. I prefer to try to make my photos look as realistic as I can using AI, but given the theme of being giants in a city it naturally wasn't going to look super realistic. I wanted to make the photo seem like there was a chance that I could be normal sized and just playing with angles and depth to make me LOOK large, but also meet the brief of actually being a giant. I think i cut the difference in that I am touching the top of the building which I couldn't do if I was normal sized, but also you could pretend I am just super close to the camera and the building is super far away. Also, the requirement to wear all neon makes for a challenging week to design a high fashion look with just one neon color. I didn't want to end up with a color drenched photo where everything in the photo starts to also be neon. With that in mind I researched some poses and some modern male romper looks to get inspiration. I played with the texture and a slight color gradient shift to bring a little something more to the garment, and then paired it with giant rain boots which I know really aren't in style now but were really popular in high fashion a few years ago. I wanted the neon color to be the main focus this week so at first I had everything but the garment in black and white, but the model's skin was difficult to differentiate from the background so I made everything else but the entire model in the photo black and white. I realized I needed a bit something more near the bottom to help the cars stand out for scale and balance, so I also turned the tail lights red. It helps to see how massive my feet are next to the cars. Overall a decent photo, but who knows how it will be received by the panel. #DNTM3
